So on May 8 I booked EMM at Toy Story land. I am also transferring resorts that day. I also had booked a lunch at HBD which I planned only to get the salad and dessert. But then I have a Flying Fish ADR at 5:35. I'm thinking it may be too much food too soon and should skip HBD. I have wanted to eat here forever though, so I'm having a hard time giving it up. But if I do EMM then have a FP for Star tours fro 9:10-10:10 I could leave and go do the resort transfer and then come back for my 2:10 FP for SDD and then BatB and then head to FF for dinner. What would you do?

Having a salad and dessert for lunch before a 535 dinner reservation would not be too much food for me. My bigger issue would be the obligation to get back to the resort to do a resort transfer after EMM but before checkout time. Can you meet with the bell hop before you leave for EMM to transfer the bags?

I would leave your bags with bell services before leaving for EMM.

Your meal plans don’t have to be a lot of food. You can eat light at breakfast (I realize it’s included but that doesn’t mean you have to load up). A salad and dessert is not a massive lunch (although you could go to HBD lounge and get a smaller version of the salad but then you’re not eating inside the main dining room so if that’s important it doesn’t solve that dilemma). Plan on a lighter meal at Flying Fish or maybe consider moving that ADR later if you can.

I would try to move flying fish later and would keep HBD. I would handle the resort transfer after SDD and before FF.

The resort will transfer your bags for you right? If so hopefully its as simple as going to your new resort to ensure you are checked in and then grab your bags and put them in your room. There is also more chance your room will be ready later in the day.

Bell Services will move your bags from one resort to another. When you arrive at the second resort, you call Bell Services to bring them to your room (you can also collect them yourself) BUT it does take a while to move them, so waiting until after 2 PM is not ideal unless you really won’t need anything (pajamas/ toiletries) until about 5 hours (sometimes more) after dropping the bags for transfer.

If OP waits until after the SDD FP that’s also well after the check-out time (11 AM). OP would have to have the bags out of the room by then. Actually even after the ST FP might be too late- assuming OP rides right at 9:10, exits the park, and then gets back to the resort it would be cutting it really close (depending on how fast the bus/ boat/ walk to the resort happens) plus that’s up to 2 hours of your day round-trip.

Hi, Yes my assumption was that OP would pack up the room before heading out. It creates an earlier start but means they won't have to go back to the first resort midday to pack up. In fact there should be no need to go back to the first resort at all.

If OP does it this way then waits until later in the day to go back to new hotel there should have been plenty of time for the bags to transfer and when they arrive they can just call for the bags.

Since OP has a full day planned I'm not seeing your point, going without bags for 5 hours shouldn't be a big deal. Obviously OP should keep anything they need (like sunblock and meds) with them.

I'd move lunch to about 2:30pm, and cancel Flying Fish...I'd do the resort transfer after the late lunch, and then see if you were up for more evening activities after the early morning and full early day at the studios (I'd do B&TB between your FPs)...

They’re both great spots so I’d try to juggle to keep both - especially if HBD is something you’ve been dreaming of. An alternative on HBD is to try the lounge - much smaller salad portion ... but no reservations and it is outside and could be an issue if raining or extreme temps. Or would you consider moving your FF reservation to later? Could explore the Epcot resorts or even venture into World Showcase (if you have parkhoppers) to fill time. As others have said, I’d leave the resort transfer work to Disney, if possible.

I tried for later but only has 8:25pm which is too late for me

If I can get the bags to bell services before EMM I think I can keep it all. I wasn't sure that was an option so early

I was going to suggest the same thing. The lounge is a great option and if you get there at open (either 11 or 1130 I think) you'll have no problem snagging a seat, can get a smaller version of the salad, and you should be good for dinner.

For flying fish we book last minute all the time, so if you want something later my guess is closer to the day something will surely open up. You could also check Open Table for a reservation which sometimes has more availability than Disney does.

Are you solo or a smaller (adult) group? There’s often seats at the bar, which is actually my preference. And if solo, be sure to look for a party of 2 as well - for some reason the system doesn’t always turn up options for 1. Then you can modify it or just tell them at the podium that you’re solo (no penalty).

The beauty of an Open Table reservation is there is no cancellation penalty, like there is for Disney. If you decide day-of that you are too full for a meal, you can call and cancel practically at the last minute.
