need advice

Hi I am brand new to these boards and I was hoping for some advice. My husband and I along with my parents are brand new DVC members. So new that our info was entered only today and we are still waiting for them to enter our points into the system. We bought resale so it has been a long process! We are planning on a trip for this Nov 10th or 11th for a 10 night stay in a 2 bedroom. WLV and kidani are both available except for the 10 and 11th. BLT has several dates that we would have to wait list during our time frame. My question is should I book a stay at WLV or Kidani and wait list those 2 nights? Try to wait list BLT? Or should we book 8 nights at WLV or Kidani and just stay at OKW or SSR for the first 2 nights? I am worried about the process of moving resorts. Do they help you move? Any advise or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help!

Since the unavailable dates are at the beginning of your stay, I would book the nights you can at VWL or AKV and then waitlist for the other 2 nights, booking OKW or SSR as a backup. They will move your luggage for you if you need to change resorts. You could also waitlist BLT for all the dates in case they all came through.

First of all, congratulations on your new DVC purchase and welcome to The DIS!!

If I were in your situation, I would just waitlist WLV (beautiful around the holidays) and just book either OKW or SSR until (if) your waitlist comes through. If it doesn't, the good news is that you'll only be transferring resorts once, and only 2 days into your vacation so hopefully it won't be that disruptive.

The other option would be to waitlist your entire trip at BLT given that, as more and more people buy into BLT, DVC continues to release room inventory to DVC owners, so your chances of getting your entire 10 days at BLT is pretty good.
