you may be some of the only people in the world who will understand my dilemma. I AM LOSING SLEEP OVER THIS.

if you have a child who was born mid-year, do you make a baby scrapbook for just the first six months? Then start the next book Jan of the following year?

or do you make a book of their whole first year (first xmas, first birthday, etc) and then start the next book in the mid year of the following year?

ALL of my other family scrapbooks are by year (Jan to Dec) of every year. My kids have no baby books due to the fact that I can't figure out how to make them with the dates. I keep putting it off and off. Now they are TWEENS!

I have decided that no matter what, I MUST get these books done.

Can you spare some advice? Tell me how you handled this with your kids?

THANK YOU.

Start with the month they were born, or tweak it a bit by backing up with "getting ready for baby", "baby shower", etc. Then you might be able to stretch it out to earlier in the year.
Do know the date you found out you were pregnant? Even if it's approximate? Did you register anywhere? Baby cards from your shower? Belly pics?

I agree w/ BAMB!!!

Here is what my plan is...

DD was born in October...found out in April... (know the specific date and who I told everything..even where I was living @ the time)... So, I will go from Jan of that year til December of that year.. Jan-March will just be little snippits of family events...

DS was born in May.. found out in October (3 days before DD's 3rd birthday)needless to say the morning sickness was ALL Day sickness which made me the life of the party! So, I will be going from Jan/Dec...w/ snippits of family events and getting ready for baby kind of a pre-baby book so to speak). The good nuts a bolts of it will be Jan-May of the following year the year he was born..

DS was born in October..found out in April (actually had about given up hope of having another baby when the test came back positive!!)... We told DH via a poster on his office door... co-worker was pregnant (NOT BY MY DH BUT HER OWN!) and she needed to announce it...so she decorated his door... went in for a meeting...to sit down at his desk and notice the back of his door that stated "Congrats DAD... baby #3 is on the way.. your wife is due in October too! We ended up having our baby boys 12 hours apart!!! LOL So I plan to do his book like DD's....snippits til April and then all his info..

and believe me.. I'm way behind...

Oh my gosh! That's hysterical!

I agree with them both, too.

Yup, the poor guy had hormones everywhere he went!! He said it was like a virtual tag team caged match!!! :rotfl:

I jsut started them from the ultrasounds and went from there. baby shower, hospital etc. and then when the book filled up I moved to another. I started DD#1's 3rd book Jan 2005. It happened to work out great. but before that its from birth on. Same with the other 2. U/S till the book fills up. I'm not about scrapping a year. do what works for you.

my son was born in april. I have been doing it by how old he is, baby book, 1 yr books, 2 yr book, 3 year book. each has started with his birthbay/parties. Birth started baby book. i only have the one and its all about him. disney trips are in their own albums. I do have a wedding one that has not been started yet (only 5.5 yrs behind)

I have a 3 and 5 year old. For my 5 year old, she has a book documenting her first year (before birth to 1st birthday). With my 3 year old, he has a book documenting his birth (before birth and birth...stuff has prevented me from continuing with his book...have all the pics and will get around to it, but you know how it goes!). I plan on doing his the same (before birth to first year). Then everything else will just be family books from Jan-Dec.

I did a first year baby book for my niece. I gave it to her this past Christmas. He was born in June. I did two, two page spreads to cover pictures of the mom and day....the family before the baby, then the baby shower.
I then did the day he was born. After that I just did a two page lay out for each month. I did 24 lay outs
My feeling is. The first 2 years you will be taking pictures of everything! Daily! But then it levels off and you can do the traditional yearly books....
