well, I joined the dining plan, made all of my ressies according to the plan and now find out that le cellier has changed to a signature needing 2 sit downs - which screws everything up. so here are my questions I hope you can answer - and thanks in advance:

1. i've made ressies at o'hana's, le cellier, boma, whispering canyon and spoodles - other than le cellier, are the rest just one meal?

2. Of the above, which would be the cheapest restaurant so I could choose that one just to pay for?

3. do you think the change with le cellier would justify me complaining to be taken off the package of tix, room and dining and just get my bdp rate for the room back? And if so, should I make the complaint and make the change?

it just makes me so mad that now I'll have to pay for an additional meal even tho I'm on the dining plan!

I don't know the costs of all the food, but Boma is a flat rate, $24.99 per person (Adult I dunno what it is for kids). I mean, that way you are sure your not going to go over and it's all you can east (so you don't feel deprived for not ordering a lot or whatever). That's all the help I have.

I'm sorry no one has been able to answer your question yet. With the dining plan being so new, there aren't many "experts" yet who know the answers to these kinds of questions.

As far as which restaurant would be cheaper for you to pay out-of-pocket, depending on what you order either Spoodles or Whispering Canyon would probably be cheaper. If you get the all-you-can-eat skillet at WCC, it's $21.99. If you order off the menu, it just depends. 'Ohana and Boma are the same set price of $24.99.

As far as whether you should cancel the dining plan or not, that depends on whether your savings on the plan was more than the cost of one dinner.

I know this isn't a lot of help, but I didn't want you to feel ignored! :D

thanks all - i totally understand how it is confusing to everyone - do you think that was WDW's plan all along? another question, I know the Boma buffet includes dessert - does O'hana's? and if not, with the dining plan, I wonder if you can get the buffet and dessert.

'Ohana does not include dessert withthe buffet. There is a separate menu. They will end your meal with fresh pineapple and carmel sauce for dipping. It is fabulous. DD is the only one who orders dessert here--she loves the coconut ice cream with chocolate and carmel on the side she dips and it tastes like a girl scout cookie! Though 'Ohana is all you care to eat it is family style and boma is a traditional buffet with pod food stations rather than one continuous line. The restaurants you mention as now needing two really are higher end when you get your total so it doesn't surprise me that they are now asking for two with them.

The Ohana meal does not include dessert other than fresh pineapple with caramel sauce. No idea whether the dining plan adds that on for you.

Whispering Canyon and Spoodles both could be lower priced.

Personally, I'm not sure I would do Le Cellier if it counts as two meals. I think I would pick two other restaurants and not have to pay additionally for any of them. I like Le Cellier, but would choose Marrakesh over it any day -- is that an option? I'm not familiar with the dining plan, so some of these may count as two, but I would recommend Prime Time Cafe, Mama Melrose, San Angel, Teppanyaki, Chefs de France.

I have emailed Disney World's online guest services and requested a list of restaurants for the Dining Plan. I specifically asked about Le Cellier.

I have seen the one posted at mousesavers.com and that was supplied to them by Disney. It's too bad they can't post it on the WDW website.

If I find out anything, I'll let everyone know. Of course, I'm sure they'll reserve the right to change the restaurants, which is why they have said to check the park map for participating Dining Plan restaurants.
