Finally convinced DH for another trip to the world. Our resort choices are YC and BC consierge (only ones left for FTP). We stayed in a BC regular room for one night (long story there) and we did not stay at the resort long enough to look around and I cannot even remember the resort layout.

Which consierge lounge is roomier? Are food choices about the same?

Does either lounge have a "kids" area for TV viewing?

Which resort is closer to Epcot/MGM? The BC looks closer, but it's hard to tell from the maps.

Both resorts themeing look nice to us so that's why we are focusing on the consierge lounge.

Thanks for ANY advice!:D

Hi there....

I had the same choice to make between BC & YC concierge.

YC is more formal with the nautical, yacht theme.... BC is more casual with the Beachy theme.

I believe the food and service is comparable at both with YC having slightly more upscale offerings.

At YC you will have a full balcony with a small table and 2 chairs.... at BC you may have a small balcony that one or 2 people can stand on... you can request a full balcony but it is not guaranteed.

BC is closer to EPCOT.. YC is closer to the pathway to boardwalk.

Both lounges have an area with a TV for the kids to watch and both lounges have foods that appeal to kids.

Here is a link to the YC/BC information thread - there are floorplans that show the layout of the floor including the lounge areas which look about the same size.

Have fun planning

Thanks for the great information. We were leaning toward YC but the on the map it seems like the consierge lounge is much smaller than at BC.

How much farther of a walk do you think it is to Epcot from YC - the difference between BC to Epcot - is it significant?

Thanks again. :)

Hi there...

Depending on where your room is maybe another 5-8 minutes...

I'm sure you will enjoy your stay :)

Hi, we are here now in the YC and the rest of our family is in the BC...the lounge here at the YC is definatly larger (and the balcony has chairs to sit on w/tables while the lounge at the BC doesnt. And the food seems to be a little better - especially at night time.

The difference between the YC and the BC walk to Epcot is insignificant, and you have to be really lazy for it to make a difference - and the boat dock is closer ;-). If you think about how much you walk during the day - does 200 more steps really matter?:p

Glad you're enjoying YC, Mousehut101. We'll be there this time next month! You said the food at night was good--what are they offering?

Hi mousehut101,

Could you please tell us how the food is different? I love to be able to sit outside and enjoy breakfast!

Thanks:)

Wow Mousehut! Thanks for taking the time to post this information. Sounds like we are going to the YC. The walk sounds OK to us. :D

Well, both have usually one type of cake out (carrot, cheese, or chocolate), cookies, cup cakes and brownies. However several times our relatives only got cookies and cupcakes (made for the kids)...

During the afternoon they have had roasted chicken breats/wings (like boston market - really good), buffalo chicken wings/boneless chicken wings, fried catfish nuggets... and they have the rest of the assortment of drinks/liquor. For kids they have had mac and cheese, mcdonalds chicken nuggests, and the mini PBJs.

I definatly enjoy the lounge here better, but it could just vary depending on your style - but I do believe the YC is larger. Both have the balcony (2 or 3 rooms large) but they have the table and chairs here - all in all for the same price I would stay here at the YC in a heartbeat!

Any other questions feel free - I probably wont be on until tomorrow again.

And twinmomto3boys the walk is very pleasent - I'm sure you will love it here just as we have!

It's pritty far, I would recommend taking the boat if the weather is bad or its excessivly hot - it is easily a 15 minute walk (I'd say 3/4 or more of a mile).
