Need Advice on Which Day

We are arriving on a Wed 8/24 and leaving on 9/4, I really wanted to go to SW the first few days we arrive, any suggestions on which would be the best day at that time of year?

We went on Sunday and the following Saturday (Feb. 6th and 12th) and the crowds weren't that bad. We had a good time.
