My parents are treating us to a trip in March 2008. Currently we are booked at the Polynesianin two rooms for six nights. There will be 5 adults and 3 kid (2,4,6). Have opportunity to stay at WL Villas in 2 bedroom villa for half the price. My dad wants to stay on monorail for the convience to park. He is worried about the shuttle time to WDW from the villas. Any advice? Last time I was at WDW I was in the eigth grade in 1989.

I agree with your dad. If money is not an issue, stay at a resort on the monorail. Poly is great, BTW :thumbsup2

I think with that many people and little ones you are better off staying on the monorail.
How fun that you are going back after all these years. Have a great and magical time.

I disagreee --- the convience of the villas will make up for the monorail -- having 2 bedrooms where you can put the kids down for a nap and the adults hang out in the living room, like normal people (instead of all crammed into the other adjoining room) is great. The washer and dryer is great with kids that age, as is the kitchen for lunches before naptime or snack or dinner in if the kids have just had it for the day.

The boat to MK can take a while (you get off at CR and walk from there) but you can always take the bus. And it really is faster to take the bus to Ecpcot from WL than taking the monorail to the TTC and changing over.

I've done both the 2 connecting rooms and the Villa route and I take villa any day!

I vote with Dad, WL is our favorite(many times) but Poly is very nice with a nice pool and thats the what the kids always like. We always go to Poly for lunch or dinner each trip and look around, we have stayed there before.

I say do whatever your Dad wants if he is treating all of you!:goodvibes

Then you took the wrong boat!

There are actually 2 boat launches from the WL. One of the boats (the smaller one) only goes to the WL, Contemporary, and FW. The larger boat goes to MK, WL, and FW. I think the larget boat does go to FW after the WL, but it's still not too bad.

The Polynesian is my favorite resort, but the WL is #2. That's a tough choice, but I think you would be happy at either!

I agree about the villas as oppose to the convience of the monorail! I would vote for the Villas anyday also they are gorgeous the land the atmosphere all of it! But I guess it's a matter of preference what one do you really like or which have you dreamed of staying at that is what I would ask myself or like another poster said ask Dad if he's paying! If i ask dad it's always a villa he's a DVC member and I love it! So let us know what you decide! also just an FYI the buses from the villas to the parks are not bad at all! :)
