I posted this earlier but I cant find it so sorry if it is actually here somewhere. I even did a search under my username. :confused3

Our flight gets into MCO around 4p on Friday Sept 16. I was thinking of getting MGM PS for Brown Derby, 50's cafe or SciFi then going to see Fantasmic. It will be 2 adults an a 6yr old girl. Our flight is short so we wont be tired much.
We are staying at POP for 6 nights with the food plan. Then we go to Hyatt Grand Cypress for the last night and go get my last meal in Orlando at Emerils (My favorite restaurant of all time). I cant wait...

I am totally open to anyones advice and suggestions. We havent been to Disney in 3 years so much has changed and their is new stuff so whatever you throw at me will be fine.

TIA

Since you are getting in later in the day why not use that day for Downtown Disney? You could hit the parks the next day.

Are you taking Magical Express. Our flight got in at 8:10 a.m. We had to get our own luggage as we didn't get the tags in time. We got on the bus at 9 am, but it didn't leave for 30 minutes. They must leave every hour or half hour as we were first on the bus. We got to Epcot by 11 a.m., but you may be cutting it close if you want to eat dinner, unless it is late. If you have the Fantasmic Dining Plan, you are supposed to arrive at the theater 30 minutes early at the latest. Don't know how crowded it will be by then, of course.

I say your plan of going to MGM is great. You will still be able to ride some rides and hang out and see Fantasmic...SOunds like a plan....Go for it. Or since your staying at POP, go to another resort like the Lodge and rent a boat. Drive where you can see the castle of MK.

For us, anytime we get in that late in the day, we don't go into a park. Unless I had an AP or something, I don't feel like I'm getting my money's worth of a ticket. (I know that the way the MYW tickets are priced, it's not that much...but that's my mentality) Anyway, we usually do something like go do Disney's miniature golf course and have dinner, or we'll just hang at the resort, get settled, do the pool. Another possibility, is to make a later dinner ressie for Chef Mickeys. That's always fun! You get all the atmosphere and the great character time before starting out your day at the parks.
whatever you decide, have FUN! :earsboy:

I think since you never really know what time your plane will land, transportation will get you to resort, and checkin...it could be a lot longer than you think. I suggest Downtown Disney or dinner at a resort instead o9f taking on a park.

On arrival day, I take time to check out the resort, go swimming in the pool and head over to DTD for dinner and a movie and then head back and get to bed early so I can get a fresh start at the parks the next day. This has always worked out well for me. I've eaten at Bongos, Planet Hollywood and I'm going to Wolfgang Puck this next time around. HTH :moped:

Thats sounds like what we are planning to do. We arrive at MCO at 1pm. Hope to be at the WL by 3pm. Check-in then head over to DTD for a little shopping and dinner. And then to bed early for 8:40am reservations at 1900 Park Faire and then to MK. :cool1:

Another fun thing to do on the day of arrival is to go to the chip and dale campfire sing along at the camp grounds, it is FREE, and the kids get to see characters, hugs, autographs, etc. on the first day at no cost. It usually starts at dusk, after the sing-a-long there is a movie played outside. It is a lot of fun.

We do DTD first day also (although have had an annual pass last two trips and went straight for a park). We like to do Disney Quest that first night.

You may have trouble with the Fantasmic Dinner plan, as most (if not all) are before 6:40 pm to get the passes for Fantasmic. If your flight is even slightly delayed, you may have some problems!

Have fun...we LOVED POP!
