Need advice on Tampa/Busch Gardens hotel

We are trying to plan a quick weekend to BG. I have been looking at the preferred hotels on the BG website and can't tell from there which hotel is nice and safe and clean. Anybody have any experience with this? I lived in Tampa years ago and know that this area is a little questionable. I also worked at BG while in college so I'm familiar with the park. I'm wondering if the Windam is okay, or the Hyatt or if I should just stick with the Embassy Suites. Help!!!!

We have stayed at the Embassy Suites and loved it. My sister and her family stayed there this summer and felt the same way - it gets my vote.

I would also have to vote for Embassy Suites. Plus you get the added value of the evening manager's reception and the cook-to-order omelet breakfast. Yummy!

We always stay at that Embassey Suites. It is a nice hotel and has always been safe when we were there. DH is staying there right now on business.

Just stayed at the Tampa Grand Suites,pretty much next to Busch Gardens,it used to be a Doubletree,I had no complaints with it but I wouldn't put it over an Embassy Suites.

We decided on the Hyatt Place. The Embassy Suites was $75 more per night and this place looks nice. Used to be an AmeriSuites. I'll post a report when we get back. We are going in two weeks

Anybody have any tips on BG? I haven't been in over 7 years

we stayed at the la quinta, right next to busch gardens last may. it was a lot cheaper then the other hotels we looked into and the rooms were very clean and we found the area to be safe too. there is a police station about a block away which makes it even better!!! i'd definitely recommend it for the price you can get it for!!!
