Just booked today a last minute trip with the Niece and Nephew down to OKW for later this month  My wife was in severe withdrawl from Disney, though she tells me it's for 'them'

Any rate, we couldn't get BWV, missed by a few points, so we took OKW. As this will be our first time there, I was looking for any reccomendation on Building or room locations.

This will be a short trip so getting near bus drops or even hear it's a short walk to Downtown Disney? Any info would be Great!

Thanks,
Tom

How old are the children? If they will be wanting the main pool rather than one of the quiet pools, just ask to be near HH. If you want a good quiet pool and near a bus stop with a close walk to DTD, then ask for something near Southpoint. We like buildings 53,54,55,56. By the way, these are all non-smoking, so if you need smoking, ask for 52.

Oh, and we will be there the last 2 weeks of January also. Hope to be staying in Southpoint near that pool!;)

i hope you don't run into the same problem we did, we could noy get a room at BWV, so ended up at OKW. The problem is, we have never returned to BWV. We like OKW much better.
The rooms are bigger and the place is much more relaxing.
Look at a map of the layout and determine where you want, close to the HH if you have kids that will want to use the pools, close to a bus-stop if further away is ok.
there's a great boat ride to DD or it's a not out of the question walk.

enjoy your trip!

we had ressies at our home the bw and cancelled as to give okw a try. we will be going in feb. we will not have a car and hopefully the transportation will be as good as always. we love the bw and hope to love okw just as much. we will let you know.

thank you so much for your input it's been a great help. They are 9 & 6m and we haven't told them they're going yet. It is such a last minute plan I still can't believe it.

This trip is only a couple of days, far too short. I have been watch the weather down ther and it/s been a bit ccool even for a New Englander.

The bus stops you mention are in the Southpoint area, I will be sure to make that request. Now all this business about liking OKW soooooooo much to never return to BW sounds  !
It would take one heck of stay to sway me........ we'll see

Some of that will depend on what room type you'll have. A studio is only minimally larger at OKW and has the 2 beds, so you'll likely have less reason to "like" that room more. If you have a 1BR, the extra 250 (or so) sq. feet will likely be very apparent.

Have a great trip!

It was mentioned about taling the boat over to DD, from where on the site does it depart, it does not tell that on the map.

The OKW boat departs from the marina in front of Olivia's and the DD dock sits bewteen Capt. Jacks and Rainforest Cafe.

Enjoy the ride.

We were in room 5632 in early Dec. Balcony view was only of trees, but as said earlier building 56 is close to a bus stop and a pool. We were on the third floor, and remember, no elevators.
