okay so I've been racking my brain coming up with a decent plan so I would like advice from you guys:

Arrive Friday- Ohana dinner- then either MK or Epcot (EMH) at night. What would you do?

Saturday- MK CRT 8:35am- go back to hotel and rest- Chef Mickeys 7:45- MK at night

Sunday- AK Tusker House 9:05- go back to hotel and rest- MK at night- CRT 8:20

Monday- Sleep in- Epcot- go back and rest- MK at night (just DH and I) BOG 5:30

Tuesday- HS- Ohana 6:40pm- back to hotel for the night

Wednesday- MK- go back and rest- Epcot at night- Biergarten 6:40

Thursday- MK all day (no rest)

Friday- Fill in the blank lol

Saturday- Leave for home

The first four days we will have my DHs parents with us so thats a plus (sorta)
Im excited but I'm also freaking out a little bit. We got free park hoppers this time and I know that i don't have to use them every single day but I want to utilize them. My boys are 6 and 4 and they are really good at relaxing in the strollers and I'm going to access their moods and change anything i need to while down there. I just like having a plan of action (you guys know how it is) :) I would love to hear any advice you have :)

We are going in August

I think you are on track going light on DHS with kids at 4 & 6. We didn’t really hit it hard until my kids were over 48 inches to ride all rides there (ages 8 & 9 now). However, a little more time in DHS and maybe AK might work. IMO as if was scheduling for us, I would think you are a little heavy on MK so I would do Epcot the first night. On the Friday, I would maybe do another DHS day if your kids enjoy it and same with AK if there are open things you want to see or do again.

We also split our days with a break like you are planning. With that in mind for planning, I give each day 2 parts (morning and evening) and I weigh our park touring visits loosely like this: 1 part AK, 2 parts DHS, 2 parts EPCOT, & 4 parts MK. That makes 4.5 days. If we need to fill in extra time over that I will either do another night at EPCOT or MK or maybe a Fantasmic dinner at DHS. (Ideally, we try to stay 9 days and I just double those parts). Based on that info, I think if you did EPCOT first night and DHS/AK on the open Friday, you would be following very near to my weights for park planning. Even if you don't because that does not fit your needs, I think you have a solid pan in the works.

Just something to think about. There is no standard right or wrong. Enjoy the planning.

With young boys, if keep it to one TS per day.

Also, are you going to CRT twice? That may be a place to start cutting TS.

I just came back from 6 days with 2 small kids (2.5 and 4.5) and based on my experience if I were you - I would re-think some of your plans.

1) arrival day - we decided to go easy and we did hotel pool and Downtown Disney after 5pm. We tried to go to bed early - kids were too excited.

2) Park days - arrive early, use extra magic hours to go on rides with minimal waits. I would not waste morning time for breakfasts at any park during the summer. Just ask yourself a question - is it better to push a stroller at noon in 90 + degree heat or in the morning?

We did rides in the morning for 2-3 hrs and lunch in AC location around 11:30-11:45am in each park. My younger daughter had a bout 2-3 hrs in the heat before she needed a break. You could see in her face when she was about to go nuts and we had to find AC break.

I would not do breakfasts in the park - I would schedule lunches to stay away from the noon heat.

3) We had options to sleep in and make late park arrivals - it did not work. kids were up by 8am anyway. Because of the heat and sun - we did go back to the hotel for naps from 2pm to 4pm.

4) plan your park days and rides you want to do - so you dont waste your time looking at the map. also - find out which rides load faster so 20 min wait time in reality is 5-10 min wait and not 30-40min.

5) we scheduled our FP+ for afternoons and used "rider swap" option so my son could do 2-3 rides with no wait in the afternoon.

6) Electrical Parade was a must but fireworks were no interest to my kids.

7) swimming pool breaks before nap time - kids really liked it and it allowed them and us to cool down from the heat.

8) TS non buffet dinners - they take "forever" and sometimes we were the first ones to leave since the kids wanted to be "kids".

9) MK - 2 days and schedule early during your trip so in case you have a rainy day - you can go back.

10) Park Hoppers - be open minded about it. you may find out that kids need break and its better to stay at the resort. My son had more fun at Poly beach, camp fire, movie on the beach than in the AK --- b/c it was hot and humid in the park and he was free to do anything at the hotel.

11) if you have a free day - put it in the middle of the trip and maybe go to the water park?

feel free to PM me if you want me to share more details / rides etc for each park. it worked for us but each family is different. Just remember - August heat, limit the kids meltdowns, and let kids to be kids.

I'm also wondering about the two meals at CRT and Ohana. There are so many good restaurants around WDW, why are you doing those two twice?

I'm going to get rid of one of the ohanas. I'm still debating which one because it depends on what my in laws want to eat. I have two CRTs because thats what my husband asked for. He said he pays for the trip so he wants to go to eat at the place that he likes. As funny as it sounds i have to make sure he's happy to.
