We will be on the deluxe dining plan for 7 nights during our upcoming May/June trip. We have done this plan in the past for weekends but never for this legnth of time. We always dine at California Grill, its a bday trip so breaksfast at the Castle is on the agenda, we had a less than pleasant food experience at Narcossee's last year so we will skip it this trip. I have the following other 2 TS booked but I am considering dropping one to allow for dinner at the new Italian place in Epcot, it seems to be getting great reviews and adding a character breakfast (we have 2 little ones in our party). So heres the choices.

Brown Derby
Flying Fish
Jiko
Yachetsman
Artist Point

I am leaning towards Jiko or Artist Point. We will be staying at the BWV's so the other 3 are super easy to get to. Both Artist Point and Jiko have been getting alot of mixed reviews lately on the boards. So which would you cancel and why???

I would pick Flying Fish. It's a great restaurant with wonderful food and you won't have any transportation issues, since you can walk.

Thanks Vicki but I need to cancel one. I want to keep Flying Fish, Yachetsman, and Brown Derby because it will be easy getting to those. I want to cancel, I think, Artist Point or Jiko, I'm just not sure which one I should cancel. Any thoughts?

Well I personally would cancel Jiko. Our meal in October was a very expensive disappointment. Steak so tough I had to literally saw on it to cut pieces. Side was hot on the outside and cold in the middle. No more mac & cheese on the menu (which my DH was able to still get at that point and it was wonderful so do not know why they took it off :confused3). When we made the ADR this summer I had only seen great reviews. But now I am seeing more and more negative reviews from this fall.

We have not tried Artist Point yet.

I'm sorry - I can't read early in the morning, apparently! I don't know! Both are definitely more difficult to get to. I haven't been to Jiko, but it seems to get better reviews than AP. I haven't been to AP since 2004, so not a lot of help there. I think I would cancel whichever one appeals to you less (food-wise) and leave it at that, since the other considerations about them seem to be similar.

I would consider cancelling Artist Point. We have had good experiences at Jiko.

Problem solved. Since I have not added the dining plan to my DVC ressie yet, I had to pay for the Castle breakfast in full this am so I will use those extra credits for the Italian place and an extra character breakfast. I don't like to book more than 2 ressies per day and they have to be at least 7 hrs apart or no one wants to eat so I have finished the master plan. Thanks everyone for the thoughts. I'm hoping that Jiko works through its problems by then because my 18 yr old was looking forward to this one. Artist Point has an interesting menu so we shall see. Thanks again.
