Good Morning Disers! Sooo dont be shocked but this summer my husband wants to plan a Non-Disney Vacation! Ahhhhhhh! I know its hard for me to even imagine! Who knew there was somewhere else to vacation! LOL:rotfl: Luckily for me he did promise we could go back to WDW next December, so Im trading a hot summer vaca in Florida for a hopefully no so hot North Eastern summer vacation.
Now what I am looking for is advice, lately my computer has been on the fritz and everytime I get into deep research on my husbands vacation idea the computer freezes up!
Can anyone out there help me?
Tom wants to start off a huge journey...
*Days 1 and 2 in Vermont, He wants to hit ben and jerry's But Im looking for ideas on what else there is to do and any idea on hotels in the area?
*Days 3 and 4 in Portland Maine, again I have no idea what there is to do or where to stay?
*Days 5 and 6 in Boston, I know he wants to catch a Red Sox game, but again what to do and where to stay?
*Days 7 and 8 in Cape Cod Area, ideas? anyone things to do, places to stay?

I see you're located in Pa, so you may already know about the place where I'm about to say. "Have you ever thought of going to either Ocean City, MD (not NJ) or Rehoboth Beach, Delaware?" I know your hubby was speaking of going a whole lot more north, but these two places are hidden gems and most definitely cheap since you can drive it too" In case you don't know about these places, look them up. There's beaches, lots of things to do, and a boardwalk with amusement park rides. Rehoboth is our favorite because kids can ride rides for a whole weekend on a $20 pack of tickets. Everything, but rooms is pretty cheap and nice. I live in Delaware, but two hours from the beach town, however it really helps fill a void when I can't get to Orlando, FL...

To start with...there's a whole lotta driving going on in that itinerary. It seems very ambitious...lots of places to get to, not alot of time AT those places.

Leave PA. It's 6 hours maybe TO Vermont. That's day 1. Arrive in the afternoon unless you leave really, really early. So part of an afternoon and evening. And day 2.

*Days 3 and 4 in Portland Maine, again I have no idea what there is to do or where to stay?

Morning of day 3 it's 4 hours approx from the Ben and Jerry's area of Vermont to Portland, ME. That gives you half day and day 4.

*Days 5 and 6 in Boston, I know he wants to catch a Red Sox game, but again what to do and where to stay?

Morning of day 5, drive to Boston. Another 4 hours. Another half day plus day 6.

*Days 7 and 8 in Cape Cod Area, ideas? anyone things to do, places to stay?

Morning of day 7 drive to the Cape. Depending on traffic and how far out on the Cape you plan to go this is from 1.5-3 hours. Another half day.

And then I assume you need to return home on day 8, it's about 8 hours from the Cape to the Hershey area, give or take and depending on traffic.

It's doable, but doesn't give you much time at any of the locations. I would consider doing VT/NH...or Boston/Cape. Something like that. So you can really see what there is to see, or a decent portion anyway before you move on to the next place.
