We have plans for BWV April 15-20 with me  , DH :smickey: , Dsis- :hippie: DBil1 :earsboy: -DNeice 8 princess: , DSis :earsgirl:-DBil2 :earsboy:-Denephew 9 :furious: and Denephew 6 :furious: .

DBil2 :earsboy: wants to be assured that he can easily get offsite for national chain eating establishments. He thinks Dnephews will insist on Pizza Hut, Chic-Fil-A, etc. and they will not be able to oblige easily. Both nephews :furious::furious: are rail thin, and getting them to eat is a bit of a battle. If you add extra entertainment, i.e. Mickey and Minnie they may not eat at all. :furious:

I think this is ridiculous but am having a difficult time explaining that their kids won't be bratty and they won't want pizza hut. The problem is not no pizza, but no Pizza Hut.

We've scored a boardwalk view, and my DH is not willing to give that up at all. I'm much more willing to go to Old Key West with the easy parking but am afraid that I am enabling my newbie relatives to not take in the "on-site" experience.

I've also went into too much detail on some things and have scared them about the complexity of WDW.

I really want to say..."Its the happiest place on earth. - People don't want to leave to go to Pizza Hut."

Help!

I hope you have a better experience then I did when I took my brother's family. They were the more experienced disney-goers but we have differing ways of vacationing. I usually leave the hotel with no intnetion of returning until the parks are all closed. They wanted to go back to the hotel every day to go swimming with promises to return to the parks later each day which never happened. Then there was the night they decided to go back to the room & get Pizza from off property from somewhere near the house they had rented the year before, I think it must have been somewhere near Universal because they were gone for hours picking up the pizza. Are you all staying in the same Villa? I would suggest you plan to split up to keep your sanity.

We originally booked a 2 BDRM villa for just me, DH, DSIS2-DBIL-and Dnephews. We are about to book another studio using transferred points for DSIS1-DBIL-Dniece. Now these "backing out" type questions are cropping up mainly from DSIS2.

Yes, I have 200 points invested in this trip, and maybe 70 more. :furious:

So...are you saying that all trips to "off-property" will take forever?

As for vacation styles...we start really early, come back to the room to drop/nap after several hours and I think they will want to go play by the pool so that's cool. We then stay really late. I don't know how late they will want to keep going after getting up really early.

Everything seems so much smoother with my other sister and her family except she doesn't like daring rides and will need a scooter for a really bad back.

I'm beginning to figure out why I've always been so

Still hoping for: :grouphug:

Not all off site trips take forever. I would just tell DBIL2 that they can rent a car, if they do not have their own, and go off site if they choose to. Pizza Hut will deliver pizza as well. As for going off site, just do some research online for the places that they want to go and you can get Map quest to track exactly the location of anywhere they choose to go to eliminate the hours away.
I understand not wanted to upset anyone but the needs of the many outweigh the needs of a few, with exceptions.

As the OP said, not all offsite trips take forever. It helps to know where you are going. I have no idea where the house was muy brother had stayed at but they were gone so long I couldn't even eat the pizza when they got back with it. It was very late & I wouldn't have been able to sleep. If your BIL is worried about his kids throwing tantrums maybe you should plan to not do everything together. You could test the waters with one or two meals before commiting to having to go off property for everything. Let them try out Pizza Planet in MGM. That place is full of screaming kids so a few more won't make a difference. There are many national chain eateries located in the Crossroads area which is just off Disney property but I wouldn't recommend the TGIFridays there (a really bad experience). They have Taco Bell, Chevy's, Pizzaria UNO I think and a whole bunch of others. There are also places such as Chili's & other Fast Food Both North & South on route 535 which is the road you cross to get into Crossroads. But you will need your own transportation. Good luck & I hope everything works out well for you.

Not sure if this matters, but when we were there in August we had Pizza Hut delivery to our door at Saratoga Springs. Was cheaper than eating out!

Thanks for the replies everyone! :sunny:
Delivery! That would be great!

Hopefully between a full kitchen, delivery, mapquest, and of course Disney food we'll cover all bases.

We took a newbie family to OKW, and, once they got their they had 1000 questions about DVC. We took them to the other resorts and they felt OKW was the best option because of the deck size (night time chats) and the serenity.

So, in the end, maybe your newbies will not like the hubbub of BWV. But, I think it depends on the type of folks they are and what they view as fun and relaxing.

Also, when we we went my Neice eats only Brocolli with Ranch Dressing and French Fries. In the end, their parents tended to that - this is your vacation too. If they want Pizza Hut give them the keys to the car or explain to them how to catch the DPE: "Disney Pizza Express"!

If they feel that they have to eat at these restaurants, just point them toward 192 then west, every fast food place known to man is located within a few miles of each other. As your staying at BWV this would be closer then going over to the crossroads.
