Okay fellow foodies, I need some help...

Our anniversary is the 21st of April. I had made reservations for V&A's Queen Victoria room but we are refinancing the house sooooo, need so advice.

1. I can change the ressies to the regular tables in V&A's and still have romance.
2. We can eat at Narcoossee's (have temp. ressies there) about 9:00 and watch the fireworks when we are done but my DH is not a seafood fan.
3. I can try to make ressies somewhere else on this short notice :scared1: but I am at a loss for where we can eat that would have the same type view as Narcoossee's or the same "peace" that V&A gives?

Someone recommended that we eat at Yachtsman Steakhouse but is there any kind of view?

We have eaten at Bistro de Paris, Jiko, Il Tutto, and we are doing the Fantasmic Package for his bday the day before (20th) and eating at Ohana's for my bday on the 22nd.

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP!

My wife and I ate at V and A's last year. It was a "regular" table. It was fantastic- very romantic. A harpist came out and played about half of the time during our dinner. Probably the most romantic part of it was 2 1/2 hours of uniterrupted conversation without our kids saying "mom, mom, dad, dad." Because of columns in the room, I could only see about 3 other tables from my seat, even though there were more in there. It was also very quiet.

If you are ok spending the amount for V and A's in the dining room, then go ahead. It was probably a once in a lifetime experience for us because of the price range, but I am SO glad we did it that time. And who knows, we may go again someday.

Is your DH a red meat fan? The filet mignon at Narcoossee's is fantastic!

Nothing romantic whatsoever with Narcoossee's. The view from California Grill is on par, but that's also a loud and busy restaurant.
Citricos is relatively quiet, but has no "view" to speak of.
Yachtsman has no view.
Il MUlino is a nice romantic Italian spot but again--no view.

If you can afford V & A you will not regret it; one of the best meals I have ever had. If not, I personally love Narcoossee's. I will agree with a pp that it is not the most romantic place to eat, but it is still a nice restaurant, the steak is excellent so your hubby should be happy, and it has an incredible view. Narcoossee's is always on our list of restaurants.

Last visit we did both restaurants (it was my birthday). I agree - if you can do V&A you will not be disappointed. We even went a day when not all the tables were filled. It was quiet and intimate and quite an adventure trying things.

Narcoossee's can be romantic - if you get one of the tables either in the corner or by the window. The restaurant itself is smaller, so that's why it ends up being quieter and we prefer that to Cali Grill. We normally get the surf&turf and the steak and potatoes they serve it with are spectacular. If you are looking to save some cash, I'd recommend Narcoossee's and then save V&A for another trip.

I would go with the regular dining room at V&A's. The most amazing meal that we have ever had. The room is beautiful and the harpist was very nice to listen to. He even played a song that I requested.

All of the restaurants you are considering are great. Of them, the only one I have not tried is V&A but I have yet to hear detractors. Narcoosee's is noisy, which can get in the way of an intimate conversation. Yachtsman has some views, but not as good as Narcoosee's or CG.

Romance is a tricky thing. The most romantic meal I had with my wife on Disney property was at Kona. It had more to do with timing and our day than any of the meal planning, venue or anything else. We unexpectedly got an offer from a family member to take the kids for the evening and for us to run off.

Our most romantic moment ever at Disney was drinking orange slushies from the cart in France in Epcot and waiting for Illuminations. The world disappeared and we just stood quietly for a while. Second is a ride at dusk on the TTA the first time we went. Again - quiet and nothing happening.

My point is this...if you're thinking about things other than the moment, it ain't going to be romantic.

P.S. -- Ever consider room service?

I am throwing a vote in for Jiko, had one of the most romantic meals in WDW there with my DH last September, the food as divine and the service outstanding.

California Grill has a very special place in my heart as well :thumbsup2

MY DH and I just returned and ate at many of the signature restaurants near the Magic Kingdom.
I found Narcossee's to be the busiest of all the places we ate at, lots of young families with strollers. California Grill is always a favorite. If you can request the "wine room" that is a nice quiet place to dine and still get the views and fireworks.
The best meal we had was at Artist Point. Fantastic food, quiet atmosphere. I think it would be a great restaurant for a anniversary.

You have the same Anniversary as me...:)

Yatchsman SH is one of our Favorites.
We are having our Anniversay Dinner There... :lovestruc

But I would say Cali Grill would be the best view.
I have never been to V&A but I'm sure you can't top that.

Have a Happy Anniversay where ever you go...:goodvibes

Where are you staying? The most romantic thing for me and hubby would be room service!! Just the two of you..possibly order a special cake and have flowers or something (go to Disney Gifts for room delivery) and decorate the room.

I have not read a single negative review of Victoria & Albert's. If you can afford it, I strongly recommend switching your reservation to a regular table. You will not regret it.

I will also add in another vote for Artist Point. It doesn't have a view of the fireworks, but it's quieter and more romantic than Narcoossee's, and the food is consistently wonderful.

I have eaten at all of the more upscale restaurants at WDW and there is nothing that compares to V&A for either romance or food quality. Stick with V&A.

Thanks a bunch-more than likely gonna try to change our Victoria room ressies to regular tables...that would probably be smartest-but I think I need to get the wine flight

and all of you are right-holding hands and watching Nelson (who were popular when we dated in high school) is probably gonna be the most romantic thing of all-he still knows all the words!

i guess i'm the oddball here but for ME romance would be a picnic on the beach and watching the fireworks from a hammock! In fact, i just added that to my itinerary.

I think Citricos is romantic and the service is very good/top quality. I hated the service at Narcoosees but since the food is good, we are going back, also the atmosphere isn't as nice.
