Hi. My dd will be three this Saturday. We live near Dollywood and always try to go a couple of times a month. Well, we went last week. I thought I would try my dd on some of the rides they have that are kinda like Disney rides.. This way I could see how she would react to them, without waiting in a long line at DISNEY...

We rode the lemon twist--- ( just like Mad hatter tea cups)

We were not even spinning the cup.... I had to have the ride stopped... She freaked out!

They also have a ride like the DUMBO elephants. She also freaked out on that...

Last year at Disney, she loved a lot of the rides... She has just started this freak out mode recently. I have noticed anything that goes in circles she is freaked out by it. I asked her what she did not like about it and she said---Mommy I not see on that ride.

So, I think it is a focus problem. She cant see because of the spinning....

Does anyone else have this problem? How long does it last? Any ride suggestions for my motion sick baby? She is really tall for her age, so she could ride anything. 43" tall and 40 lbs

TIA :goodvibes

I am a person who gets extremely motion sick. I also have vertigo (or something like it) so it is a balance thing for me too.

First, dont force her to ride anything. My parents meant well, but on our first trip when I was 10 they convinced me to ride the teacups. OMG I still feel sick thinking about it, and walking by them is the only place in WDW where I just dont feel happy.

I actually get really sick feeling on the carousel as well, becuase of the round and round and up and down thing. I refuse to ride DUMBO :flower:

But WDW is my favorite place because most things dont give me any problems. Buzz is fine as long as the car is not spinning, which you have control over. Its a Small World, Pirates, Jungle Cruise, are all fine by me too. I LOVE Splash Mountain, although I hate the drop. But it is over so quickly I get over it.

I would follow her lead, and let her tell you what she wants to do. Do you have a planning video she could watch to help her get familiar with everything>?

Oh, I get nauseated on Goofy's Barnstormer! I can handle it but just once and then I need to sit down -- also I do feel the motion sickness coming on on the Carrousel.

Just don't force her on those rides. I always hated it when people made fun of me for not liking roller coasters, etc.

Don't worry about it - Dumbo has such a long line anyway - so you'll be thankful you don't have to wait in that line.

She should be fine on all the other rides.

I get sick just thinking about the Teacups. I'd be right there on the sidelines with your daughter!

Good luck! I hope you have a wonderful trip!
