Need advice for Res. Inn Orlando airport to downtown Disney

Hello! We are a group of 11 needing a cheap transportation option from the Residence Inn Orlando airport to downtown Disney. We are only in town one night as we are taking my Mom on a cruise. She is in the final stages of cancer and it is her final wish-to go on a cruise. Another thing she wanted to do was see downtown Disney. From what I understand airport hotels are not convenient to the Dis area but I would really like to make this happen if anyone has a suggestion. I was told by the hotel a cab would be over $50 each way and that only holds a few of us.

Are you going back to the airport the next day to pick up your transportation to the port?

Why not try renting 3 cheapie cars via priceline or hotwire. Those should hold 4 people each. You'd have to do one rental at a time and have a different driver assigned to each car. 3 one day rentals should not exceed $100 total.

If not going back to the airport before your cruise, the three drivers could take them back to the airport and ride your hotel's shuttle back to the hotel.
