34 days to go!! We booked overnight flights...maybe not the best idea with 4 kids in tow, but I figured we won't waste a day for travel:lmao: and a friend of mine convinced me overnight flights are great...we'll see. My dilemma is this: Our flight gets in at 6am. Originally, the flight I wanted got into Orlando at 1040am, which was great, but when I went back to book, the prices for that flight had gone wayyyyy up, so I booked the other overnight flight, getting us into Orlando at 6am. I know check-in isn't until 3pm(we are staying at Pop Century). I'm thinking of perhaps booking a room for the night before (assuming of course, there is one available!), that way we'd have a room when we get there, and the kids (or me) could have a nap. I'm HOPING we will all sleep on the flight, at least a little bit, but I know we'll be tired when we arrive, and I"m not sure what to do with everyone from 6am until we check-in at 3pm.we could also drop our bags off and hang out by the pool until check-in, eliminating the cost of the extra night that we won't really be there for. I'm really not sure how everyone will feel after travelling all night, I'm pretty sure my 13 yr old dd and I will be the only ones hyperventilating to get to the parks, even with no sleep the night before:laughing: I work night shifts on a regular basis..I'm used to it! and my 13 yr old doesn't want to waste any time sleeping when she could be in the parks, lol. I'm most concerned about our 4 yr old ds and how he will be.
Should I book the room the night before so we have it when we arrive? Or hang by the pool and check out the resort and save the $$? I'd love some advice!:)

I would save the $$ and based on when you are traveling, with schools being back in session and not a holiday, you have a very good chance of getting a room a lot earlier then 3pm. If not ready when you arrive, leave your luggage with the resort and either hang out by the pool.
DW and I have only taken one overnight flight and we did not like it, neither of us could sleep on the plane and just felt very tired and ended up dragging the whole day. I know we could not do it with our DDs:eek:
Good luck and have a magical time.

If it was just you and your dd13, I would say not to get a room, but since your ds4 is going, I absolutely would get a room. Not only will you be able to hopefully sleep a bit, you will be able to shower after such a long flight. Just a nice way to start your vacation. :goodvibes
