o.k. well my family and i are planning our first trip ever to WDW in january and i have been reading how the pirates and princess party is possibly on the 26th, which is our arrival day...we arrive at MCO at 10:20am and have a 5:30pm ADR for CM...would it be to much for us to try and do that with a 4 & 7 yr. old...i know they will love it...but considering it doesn't end until midnight i just don't know if they will last, however they have stayed up on the weekends past 1am before...i want everything to be extra special for them...

what do you all think?

Wow! Your first trip ever, Congratulations! You're off to a great start scheduling some meals. I love the ability to walk from CM to the MK! (Where you are a first time visitor you might want to take your family for a ride on monorail from the Contemporary to the MK for fun.) I'm assuming you are heading home before the next tentative P&P Party date of Feb. 2, if so, where the dates are still tentative I would recommend waiting to buy your tickets. You can purchase them at a discount (some dates) right up to the day before and Disney could still (maybe) announce more dates between the 26th and Feb. 2. Since, it sounds like another date would have been your first choice, if it were currently available, I'd wait for now. This way, if another date comes up you won't already be holding the tickets for the 26th.

Either way, whether you go on the 26th or another potential date, I definitely don't think it would be too much to have the CM dinner and the P&P Party on your opening day because even if the 26th was your second or third day you would still need to eat and what could be better on a busy day with a late night then a really nice break at a sit down dinner. I actually try and open every vacation with a Character meal. My kids love to be welcomed by the characters and it is a great way to launch your magical vacation!

Have FUN! :goodvibes

dh doesn't think we should do this since we are already spending big bucks for the week here at disney, but i am trying to change his mind about it...i will work on him a little harder...:rolleyes1 and he will come around oh yes, he will....:rotfl2:

I think it would be really smart to go to the PPP your first night because it is a separate ticketed event. You would save one day on your park pass.

The dates and fees are set and you can buy your tickets now by calling 407.

we have the 8 day park hopper ticket and we looked into cutting it back to a 7 day park hopper, but we were told by the cm that we would only save basically $2.00 per person and it would just be better to leave it as an 8 day just in case...

Considering your early arrival time, I'm assuming the kids will have been up early for the flight, it may just be too much for them to hit the party too. Our kids are a little younger (1, 2.5 and almost 4 at the time of our trip a few weeks ago) and they were all exhausted the first day from traveling. Our flight out was at 7:00 am, so they were up by 5:30 and on the go the whole day (short naps during travel). We arrived at noon and had late lunch adr's in Epcot at 2:55 - after lunch we hung around for about an hour and a half, but I could see a they were tired (it was only after 5, but they were exhausted!) and we headed back to the room and relaxed and they went to bed early to get ready for their first full day at the parks the next day. We did have tickets for the halloween party the next night, which was nice, but kinda a waste because they were tired by 8:30, especially the 4 year old with all the walking from the day, that we left right after the parade, we didn't even stay to see the fireworks. Just my two cents. Hope you have a great trip!!!
