where can I find cheap envelopes that would fit a 4 x6 invitation printed at like WAlgreens or something... I am ordering invitations off ebay and the lady said I could print them at Walgreens like a picture... I thought.. great.. but what about my envelope... anyone ever done this before?

We printed some 5"X 7" Photo Invitations last month through WalMart's Photo Center. We ordered them online and picked them up an hour later at our local store. They included the envelopes, so you might double check to see if your's would be included. There are places online that you can order the envelopes but they were pricey. Sometimes you can find them at Office Supply stores.

Not sure how many you need or what you consider cheap but I'd check Staples and then, before buying, do a quick search on ebay and Amazon to see if you can find a better deal. For DD's Bat Mitzvah this year, I printed the invites, response cards and thank you cards and needed envelopes for all of them. I got some on ebay and some on Amazon. Staples didn't have what I needed and online was cheaper anyway.

The size envelope you need is an A6. It is approx 4 3/4 by 6 1/2 inches.

If you have a good stamping/scrapbooking store near you, it is possible they would have this size envelopes. (The one I go to sells these individually, so you can get exactly how many you need.)

Walmart sells that size---$4 for 50 of them.

Edited: Ok I lied...the ones I have are actually 4 3/8" by 5 3/4". Could you trim the print a little bit?

This size envelope is seldom cheap..not like the 1/4 size. How many did you need and what color?

I go to the dollar tree and buy a package of cards for $1. use the envelopes for the cards and then use the cards for the kids to do crafts with!

I usually buy Christmas cards when they are clearance very cheap and just use the envelopes. But I would also check with where you have them printed. I printed a photo at Walmart that i used as an invite and they did include the envelopes without me even asking for them.

I did this for Christmas Cards...I saved my card as a jpg and printed 4x6 walmart.com and then bought the box of white envelopes. It was $4 ish for 50. It worked like a charm! And sooo cheap! ;)

Walgreens has their Christmas cards on sale for 75% off now. Maybe you can go and get a cheap box or two of cards? I know I got ones that were photoholder type and they were .37 per pack of 12. You could use the envelopes from them.

I collect the envelopes after the holidays. If you can catch the "card lady" when she is changing out the greeting cards, sometimes they will give you the envelopes. I have hundreds and hundreds of them, in an assortment of sizes and colors. (the greeting card companys throw them away)
If you have any store clerk or manager you are friendly with, I have found that they will even save them for you if you ask.
I use them for rebates, cards printed off the computer, grocery lists, putting coupons in......they really have lots of handy uses.

My friend made our Photo Christmas Cards this year. I printed them out as 4x6 photos. Walmart sells White Invitation Envelopes. They are by Embassy and they are in a purple box. The envelopes are 4 3/4" x 6 1/2". Perfect size for what you need. 50 come in a box and I believe they cost $4.44. They have a website on the box that might help you. www.ampad.com

HTH!

Am I the only one thinking about George Costanza and his wedding invitations here?:lmao: :rotfl2:

I print all of my invites as 4x6 pictures for years now. The cheapest I have found is at acmoore.I got a 70 pack of note cards for $4.99 (used the 50% coupon) I let the kids draw on the notecards and I take the envelopes.

Usually invite envelopes are 4 3/8 X 5 3/4 and they are inexpensive. If you can find the A6's for the prices being given here (I can't wait to check Walmart, I've never found the A6 ones there for those prices, or any prices, but it makes sense, now that so many get photo's make into invites!), you should go for it. I was going to offer to sell you envelopes for my price (I do Desk top Publishing), which I buy in boxes of 250, but really, even at my printers prices, I can't find them this cheap, either for quality envelopes, or cheap ones LOL! I'm going to be looking at these places myself.
