I am going to WDW in October and wanted to make an ADR at California Grill on a Saturday night while the fireworks at MK were going on. I need advice from anyone who has done this before. I know that MNSSHP will be going on at this time and I need to know if they still dim the lights and pipe in the music if it's not regular Wishes fireworks. Also, when I make ADR will they be able to tell me exactly what time I need to make it to see the fireworks? HELP!!!

I would like to know this also
I just made adr for CG at 8pm and when I asked about the fireworks the cm really did not have any answers just for me to ask that day for seat near the window.

We went in Oct last year - but we went outside - I just wanted a closer look, and some of the patrons inside just didnt get into Wishes - but outside - the music is loud and clear, the sky is lit up - just gorgeaous!!

Not a great pic... but maybe you can get an idea/

hey there

I will eventually be making an ADR for the cali grill in October too... I think we have to wait about another month and a half for disney to release their schedule before we can know what times to shoot for

Last Oct. Wishes was 9pm the first Sat. 10pm the second 2 Sats. & 9pm the last Sat. Don't know if they will be the same this coming Oct. or not but you can always change your reservation. We planned our reservation for 1 hour prior to the fireworks & that was a good thing because it still took about a 1/2 hour before we were seated. We ate at CG on Christmas night, but I don't know if they dimmed the lights & piped in the music because we headed out to the observation deck. I had heard on another thread they don't dim the lights anymore but maybe somebody else will know for sure. I do agree with eeyore45 that you are better off heading to the observation deck because you get a beautiful view, the music is piped out there, plus you get all the sound of the explosions. The waitstaff will hold your next course for you if you do decide to head outside.

Good luck!

The folks who take ADR's over the phone probably won't be able to help you.
WE always make ADR's for a hour before fireworks time (when Disney releases those times). That allows for any "wait" to be seated, and the fireworks usually start at some point during the meal. We then just get up and walk out to the Deck (along with about half the restaurant!!) watch the show, then go back and resume the meal.
