Thinking of booking Caribeean for 5 nights in December. Does anyone what the preferred locations are? Certain buildings?

I really want to a king size bed but not sure if I should do the preferred location instead because of the size of the resort.

Any input would be appreciated.

I suggest you check out the Caribbean Beach Resort thread. You'll find tons of information on the CBR over there. Safetymom keeps it updated and can answer these questions for you.

We've stayed at the CBR twice. Once in Jamaica (not preferred) and once in Martinique (preferred). We liked both locations and if we stayed there again (which I am sure we will), I wouldn't pay the extra money for a preferred location.

Old Port Royale is where the marina/food court/restaurant/store is located. It's right in the middle of the 1.4 mile promenade so, even if you are at the very furthest point, you aren't more than halfway from Old Port Royale.

The grounds are so pretty that we didnt' mind the walk from our location in Jamaica.

Hope this helps, Lisa

The first post of the CBR FAQ lists the preferred buildings. Jamaica or Aruba are favorites for those that don't want to pay for a preferred location.

We stayed in Martinique (preferred). We just walked out our door and were pretty much right beside Old Port Royale and the pool. It was very convenient. Also, the bus stop was located very close to our room too.

I'll give another nod to Jamaica! This was our favorite section. Your not paying extra for preffered and your close but not too close to the main pool and food court so its nice and quiet. The walk isn't that far, just a nice stroll across the island over to the food court. :wave2:

Another fan of the Jamaica section bldg 44. We had a great room location during our June 2007 trip. Most of the time we were first to be on the bus and first to be dropped off at the bus stop:thumbsup2

We stayed for a week this past July at CBR and paid the extra for Martinique.
We decided to pay the extra money because the year before were felt like our room was in Tallahassee. We seemed to spend more time walking back and forth to Old Port Royale than anything else. Now, if you enjoy the walking and aren't toting small children...any room at CBR is BEAUTIFUL. But if you don't want the hassle of more to and fro time...ask for Martinique.:goodvibes
