Need advice booking mid october

so i need 5 nights in a 2 bed room in mid October. i have a small contract at VWL 30 points that has 30 banked so i can use 90 of the points. that buys me 2 nights in a 2 bedroom so i can lock up friday and saturday. i assume those are the most popular days. my question is if i do this how do i add the other 3 days i need at the 7th month window. I will need Wednesday and Thursday night and Sunday. i have a super bad feeling about that weekend i know food and wine causes a big influx of DVC. my back up resort is AKL i am pretty sure i will be able to get in there at 7 months.......please advise on what you all think i should do......

I think Friday and Sunday will be the popular nights, because of the the halloween party.

At 7m you book whatever you can at 8am. If everything's available, book the 5n and cancel the 2 days. Let's say Wed & Thursday's available but Friday's gone. You can book Wed & Thurs online, then call MS at 9am to have them combine the reservations for Friday you booked before 7m. If Sat & Sun is available, there's a chance MS will let you book the whole Wed - Sun when you call in.

If you can't piece it together, waitlist right away. Book whatever's available and waitlist the days you need. I'd give it a week or two before giving up and booking at AKV.

Your concept of Fri and Sat being the highest demand nights is only partly correct. In mid-Oct, for Columbus Day weekend the Thurs through Sun are about equally in demand, and for the weekend after Columbus Day, the Thurs through Sat are about equal, and for both weekends demand is extreme. You have a real risk of VWL not being available at 7 months out but some have reported success wait listing. You also have some risk that AKV will be missing a night or two at 7 months out but still a decent chance at least AKV Kidani will be open.

some resorts and views are already booked pretty much solid for october. i suggest a transfer or renting the points and then linking the ressies.

yeah we want to arrive the 14th and leave the 19th. this is my first time in 5 trips since owning i am not going to do a Saturday to Saturday stay i know they can be harder. i have a bad feeling if i hit my 30 pointer for VWL and borrow 2016 points that i will not get the whole 5 days when the window opens i guess it does not matter i can just bank points from my main contract for 2016. god i hate this part of booking at 7 months!

Is there another contract for more points because I don't see how 90 points will get you 5 days in a 2BR anytime?

yeah i have 190 at SSR i am getting closer to just booking the friday and saturday night and hoping to get the wed, thurs, and sunday at 7 months.....
