Need advice about upgrading from QSDP to DDP

Okay we were originally booked at POR, but then MIL invited BIL/SIL, so I changed us to POP and got 3 rooms versus 2. Now the question is should I upgrade us to the regular DDP. I still have all of my reservations.

MIL/FIL are in their 70's and a part of me thinks that they might need the break that a TS would allow. Our group will consist of 6 adults/4 children. Since I am paying for this trip, I am not really sure about the extra money, but can't make a decision. Please let me know your opinions.

I've never tried the QSDP, so I can't comment on that, but we always get the DDP and I really can't imagine changing (unless maybe upgrading to the DxDP). I enjoy eating at TS restaurants and can't imagine doing QS for a whole week. I know there are good CS restaurants like Sunshine Seasons and WPE, but the're not always practical at eating at for a whole trip (IMHO).

I think if I was going with my parents or in-laws they would especially appreciate eating at TS restaurants. But that's just my 2 cents

Same here as PP. Always go with the DDP.

I love being able to sit down with the entire family for a nice TS meal.

It's always one of the highlights of my trips.

There's alot of good CS places to eat but nothing beats a TS meal when your in a larger group. We had 7 people on my last trip and it can be hard even getting a table for everyone to sit together and eat with CS places.

Thanks guys for your replies. After looking into our situation a little more I remembered that we had a CRT reservations for 8 of us instead of the 10 that I needed and that we had paid OOP for it. So if I cancelled it and used the money it wouldn't be much more to upgrade everyone. I think I added up that it would be 448 dollars to upgrade everyone. Sorry to sound so cheap, but my budget is a little strained trying to pay for 4 extra adults that I hadn't planned for.

I don't think we will miss the extra snack since we had snacks left over with the DDP last year and the mug we can always buy if we choose to. But, I still keep getting that doubt of uncertainty going on.

If you are eating extra TS meals because of your decision to upgrade, don't forget to add in the additional % for gratuity over and above the upgrade charges. Just mentioning this because you said you are on a budget for this one. It does look like upgrading may very well be a better option for you, not just from a cost perspective, but from a practical one too. Your MIL and FIL will probably appreciate a relaxing sit down meal every day.
