Hope someone can help us out. This will be our first Christmas at WDW. We usually go in June. Unfortunately, this is the only week DH and I can get from work to go. I have heard from some Dis'ers to stay away from MK on Xmas. I know it is open for evening EMH, so we had hoped to change our plans to get PS at CP around 7:00 and then stay for the EMH. Do you think the park be open by 7:00? I was told the park usually closes around 10:00 or 11:00 a.m. due to crowd capacity. Anyone go on Xmas and have an idea when it generally thins out? As it stands right now we have PS at 1900 PF for 4:00 and were going to take the monorail to MK after that but we are now rethinking our plans since we are worried the park may not let us in.

Also, we only went to the EMH when it was e-ride nights and could walk right on any ride. Does anyone know if that is still the case, or is it more crowded since you don't have to pay for EMH? Any help/advice would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

I need to know the answer to this also. We are planning to spend the day at Epcot and head to MK after the Candlelight Processional. I was wondering if we would be allowed in. For those in the know, can I add, will it matter if we are staying in a resort or not.

Evening EMH's are usually more crowded than E-Ride Nights used to be.

I have gone to some MK EMH's and been overwhelmed by SO MANY guests and long waits.
OTOH, on other MK EMH nights, we have been able to "walk onto" the attractions.

But on CHRISTMAS Night... you can be SURE it will be VERY busy.

As to whether (or when) they would close and/or re-open MK due to capacity crowds... that's anybody's GUESS... as no one (including Disney) has any idea just what any group of guests will or won't decide to do on a given day (especially this far in advance).

Yes it does.

WDW Resort guests are given the best opportunity to enter parks that are nearing capacity.
They are the last "category" folks who are still allowed to enter, even as other CM's and guests are being refused.

That said, I would simply NOT WANT TO BE among "the last 25 people wedged into" the MK before they close it to further guests. ;)

Further, on days where a park or two my be closed due to over-capacity, WDW Resort guests are "guaranteed" admission to one of the 4 theme-parks that day (even if it may not be the park the guest(s) originally wanted to visit.)

I was thinking that since only resort guests can stay for EMH's that the park would clear out enough at closing that all the resorts guests would be admitted for EMH's.

Expect crowds and waits beyond your wildest imagination. If you are going to the MK, get there EARLY--very early--and don't leave as you may not be able to get back in.

Thanks to all for the great advice. I think we will be talking a bit more about what to do on Christmas before we jump into a decision.
