Hope you don't mind my dropping in here for a bit of advice: We're spending some time in London next summer before heading over to Barcelona for the DCL Med Cruise. I've decided to fly British Airways from London to Barcelona, and we can leave from either London City Airport at 9:15 in the morning or Heathrow at 11:15 a.m. We're staying near the London Eye, so that might help you with distances. Which airport would you fly from? Any advice?

Thanks,

Julie

I would probably fly from Heathrow as you can catch the tube direct to there. If your hotel is near the eye (on that side of the river) you can catch a tube from Waterloo (jubilee line to Green Park, then sawp onto the Picadilly line) which takes you straight to Heathrow. If you are on the other side of the river catch a tube at Westminster (same route, swapping lines at Green Park.)

Ive not personally flown from london city, but im told it's a much quieter and easier to use airport than heathrow.

I use London City for walk and it is much quieter and easier to get to since its more centrally located. Personally I would go for London City :thumbsup2

London City without a doubt. Easy transport connections from Waterloo to Canning Town on Jubilee Line, then DLR to London City Airport. Also check in at LCY is MUCH less than Heathrow. LCY is also a LOT quieter.
