Hello!
I have a few questions that may be on the 'basic' side. I am planning our second trip to WDW, we drove down last year. So with this being our first flight into Orlando, my questions are...

1. How far is the Orlando Airport from WDW (we are staying at Pop)?
2. What is the best to/from transportation service? (we are trying not to rent a vehicle)
3. What would be a ballpark figure for lets say taking a shuttle vs. getting something like towncar service.

Thank you in advance for all your help!!

:cool1: i noticed that you stayed at the pop last year that is where we are staying this year what is it like.

wdw is starting a free transport from mco to wdw in may called magical express, i believe??? i know this does not help your current trip, but its a nice touch that wdw will be providing.

btw pop was great!!! rooms are kinda small, but i thought they we very nice and clean. if you can, stay in the 70's. its close enough to the pool and rest's, it's also away from the major roads so late at night its nice and quite so you can get some rest :D

Thank you for replies...

Our trip is planned for mid February 2005, so the Magical Express they are doing for the anniversary celebration will not have started yet. I guess I will have to plan trip #3 while they have that special still running. :D

- is the Magical Express what you were referring too? Or is their other Disney transportation that I havent heard of?
- Yes, we loved Pop Century last March. We stayed in the 60's building and it was so nice. The rooms were neat and clean, and the themeing is wonderful. Enjoyed our stay so much we are staying again in Feb and probably continue to stay here for future trips aswell.

The regular on-going Mears Shuttle will most likely be in the $28 pp, r/t range. It could take up to 2 hrs. to get to Pop due to stops at other resorts. A towncar service will run you about $100. Some are a little less, some a little more. You can add a 20% tip on top of that. But, you are met in the baggage area, and you can book a grocery stop. Then it's about 30 minutes to WDW.
If you need a limo, it will be more. A towncar will hold up to 4 comfortably. A limo holds more. Go to one of the towncar sites and you can get an idea. FL Tours is a board sponsor, Tiffany Towncar is highly thought of. There are others out there also.

I personally think that it would be better to rent a car because then you could pick when you wanted to go. Cause the buses have certain times and schedules. From, disney52676@yahoo.com

Last i checked with budget.com, the full size ford taurus was around $100 a week. if you need discount codes, lmk and i'll dig up what i have.

We stayed at POP in Dec 04. We used Tiffany Towncar Van for 9 people (family of 5, and both sets of grandparents). Cost was around $110 r/t. They were waiting at the lugguage pick-up for us. Everything went fine. The return trip was more troublesome. The pick-up return trip was late by 45 minutes. We arrived at the gate during final boarding. When the wife and I went down in Jan 05 staying at the POP for our 15th anniversary we used Mears at a cost of $57 r/t. Mears will pick you up 3 hours before your flight so you should have plenty of time. Planning on going back down in Nov 05, not sure if we will use Tiffnay or not. Planning on filing a complaint with them. We will see what happens. :earseek:

We always ge a towncar. Tiffany has always done well for us, but there are exceptions with any transport service.

If you book online Tiffany is $90 RT, plus tip for a towncar, and more for a van (not sure how much). If you happen to have a passporter, there coupon is for $8.00 of, which takes it down to $87.00

We like using the towncar--- They meet you in baggage, and help with luggage. You can schedule a grocery stop, to pick up water, pop, and snacks for your room. That saves a bundle.

We would rent a car if we ever went off-site, but we enjoy staying on WDW property, and using their transportation. No drivng hassles. We do use a cab a couple times during the week, if we are running late, for a meal at another resort, but other than that the busses do a great job.

Have fun planning your trip. :flower1: :flower1:

I used a Town Car, but you could rent a car 1 way and drop off at WDW for around $40-50..longer grocery stop, poss. use for 1st day....down side is you have to drive (I don't like that part). Then you cound rent a car the day before from WDW and drop off at MCO...Good Luck.
