Need a TAXI while in DISNEY....is MEARS the Disney choice

I will need a taxi twice during our trip...one for SeaWorld and the other for the outlet malls...I have read that MEARS is pretty much the only taxi allowed on Disney property...is this true ?

They are supposedly the only one allowed to pick up fares on Disney property,
others are allowed to drop off fares anywhere on property. Not sure how closely it is enforced.

Interesting... when we asked for a taxi service number at our front desk, we were given "Yellow Taxi" who was late, arrived at the wrong location, got pulled over for speeding, asked my dh for his key to the world card so he could get through the toll gate... it was a nightmare taxi ride! (and we were late for our ADR due to the lateness and the police stop, which flipped me out the most).

Yellow Cab is part of the Mears transportation group, along with Checkered Cab and City Cab.

note pretty sure mears owns a number of taxi companies in the area.
