Need a strategy for a nap on checkin day . . .

Do online check in and check the early arrival box.
This will put your room ready as early as possible as a priority.
I have arrived early many times in the past and my room has always been ready when I get there.
On both of my trips in 2015 I checked the early arrival box and was there by 10am both times and my room number had already been texted to me.

I didn't have an "early arrival" box or option with my on-line check in. Just two drop down menus with a few room options. Does this not exist anymore?

They did change the set up of online check in a few months ago and I did not pay too much attention for my most recent trip in September since we were arriving in the evening but I assume its still there somewhere.

Contemporary has plenty of spaces throughout, including the convention center where you should be able to find a comfy chair and shut your eyes. Just give all your stuff to bell services, and don't worry about it. Or go find a lounger by the pool if it is a nice day. Just do the online checkin, and as long as you aren't requesting anything, odds should be in your favor, just accept you may end up with that room next to the elevator or ice machine that no one wants. ; )

My suggestion is to plan the downtime. Force yourself to lay down in the room, or hang out on a pool lounge for a set amount of time. You don't have to sleep, you just need to chill for that two or three hours. Odds are if you're tired, you'll sleep. Even if you don't sleep, your system will still get some rest. Maybe you can plan a special treat at MNSSHP as a reward that you only get if you take the full break.

If it's just you, maybe go to DS, eat lunch, and ferry over to the spa at Saratoga Springs and get a massage? Or if the other resorts have good massage, do it there. You can nap during the massage, and then you'll feel very relaxed and rested, all the tension from the flight gone. They can even get rid of your headache. Then shop a bit, do dinner, etc.

I will be getting up at 4 am or earlier Central time on my travel day. Arriving at MCO by 8:40am EST. Hopefully that puts me at my hotel before 10am via ME. I have a ticket to the MVMCP and really wanted to be there from 4pm at least until parade #2.

In March we did this early flight and were in Epcot by 9:30. I had a raging caffeine headache and had to drink extra coffee. By 4pm we were dragging the kids and ourselves to make it through a meal and back to the hotel.

I could use some suggestions for how to beat fatigue on a long day like this. I'm paranoid I won't get a room until it's too late to squeeze in a nap. I'm also not a very good napper. Luckily it's just me this trip.

Basic Strategy/Easiest way: Close Eyes....Fall Asleep...LoL:rotfl2: Sorry. J/K of course.

Not sure where you are staying. From the looks of your counter, I'm guessing BLT or CR.....But What I've found to be very relaxing/ especially @ AKL/V is the Lobby couches, or the lil verandas just off the lobbies... If I need a quick power nap, while they check in I just throw my shades on:cool1: & quickly nod off... Even better than that is a good spot around a main pool, in the sun. That'll do it for sure.

We'll be dealing with early wake-up and early arrivial...if our room is not ready we plan to snooze by the pool and hit the parks after 4 PM...Safe travels!

An excuse to buy something special! I like the way you think.

I never considered a spa appointment. That's a good idea.
