Need a shade for our baby carrier!

We have an older evenflo back carrier (one with a frame) for our DD and I'm starting to think it needs a shade. I've been searching for one, but I don't think I'm looking in the right places. Does anyone have one, know where I can get one, or even know what I'm talking about?

I know what you're talking about!

I would imagine it's hard trying to find a replacement piece (or optional add-on piece) made by Evenflo, so what about a generic solution like a clamp-on umbrella like this?

It's designed to be clamped onto a beach chair so using it on a baby carrier seems a logical alternative. It looks like it has a decent sized clamp so you could attach it anywhere to the frame so it's at the right height and angle. There are other clamp-on umbrellas out there, I picked this one mostly at random but also because it looked fairly sturdy.

I had a extra canopy for my son called the Combi Carseat Canopy. It was great but I think they stopped making it. Maybe check ebay for one

Monkey pockets are great covers for baby carriers, but I'm not sure if that is what you are looking for. They cover the baby from chest down, but not over the head. You can google them and see if they would work.

I had a carrier like you're describing--no shade. We just used a baby hat with a flap like this in link. My kids never played the pull-off-the-hat-and-throw-it game though. They always wore hats outside and kept them on.
