I've scheduled a 'slow day' for my soon-to-be hubby and I during our WDW honeymoon in July. On that day we are starting at AK, moving to DQ..then are booked for dinner at Whispering Canyon because we are staying at WL. Now I'm thinking that maybe WC is a bad choice as I was looking for something a bit more relaxed. Any suggestions for a restaurant (anywhere in the world as we have park hopper passes) that would be good for a more relaxed dinner (early-ish).

Cheers.

The Brown Derby at MGM is very relaxed and classy too. Great food and very attentive staff. We had one of our best meals there. They don't rush you to leave. Have a great trip!

I'm not sure of your finances, but try California Grill at the top of Contemporary. You get an awesome view of MK. If that's a bit too expensive, try either LeCellier in Canada in EPCOT or Ohana in Poly. Good luck with your choice and CONGRATULATIONS party: :jumping1: on your upcoming wedding.

Any of the Signature places that others have mentioned are great, but if you're looking in the price range of WCC, here are some thoughts:
-Kona Cafe at the Poly
- Grand Floridian Cafe
- Boma (a buffet so a little busier, but great food)
- Le Cellier (a bit more expensive but still 1TS on the DDP)
- San Angel Inn (quiet and romantic in the Mexico Pavillion)
- Grab some food at Tempura Kiku in Japan, it's often overlooked, and then watch Illuminations from the balcony
- Marrakesh (fairly quiet and great entertainment)

And if it were me and a signature (2TS) place was an option, I'd go with California Grill, Jiko or Artist's Point.

Have a great honeymoon!

Stay right in WL and go to Artists Palate. :)

I agree to stay right in the WL, but the restaurant name is Artist Point. This is a signature restaurant that has a more relaxed, intimate atmosphere and you can always ask for a window seat at the podium to have a great view. I don't want to offend this poster by correcting him, but Artists Pallette is actually a different restaurant at Saratoga Springs/LBV Golf Course. :yay:

Its your honeymoon! Go all out! We recommend Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Since your going to AK during the day finish it up with a romantic evening at Jiko for a elegant and unbelievable dinner. We have eaten there many times and they have a special appetizer platter for two (not on the menu so ask about it) which includes a little of everything, then pick the fillet for the main corse and finish with the couples deserts (again a little of everything). Great African wine list and service is phenomenal. :thumbsup2

Or try the upstairs restaurant at Wolfgang Puck. More or less opposite Disney Quest. Very elegant restaurant

"Whispering" Canyon Cafe is really badly named. The place is LOUD, and most popular with families with young children.

Go instead to Artist Point -- fantastic for a grown-up meal. We were there five years ago and I can still remember our meal very vividly. The atmosphere is serene, non-stuffy, and the food is wonderful. It's a bit pricier than WCC but so worth it. Highly recommended. Perfect, too, given your logistical constraints for the day. Save room for the fruit cobbler.

Since you are staying at the WL...I think you should go to Artist Point. It is a beautiful restaurant and very quiet. The food is great also...espcially the Artist Point Cobbler!!!!! We went there for our 1st anniversary dinner last year and it was great!!! (our dessert was even free :teeth: )

My wife and I went to Artist Point on our honeymoon and loved it. So I agree with some of the others and say go there. Also, San Angel Inn in Epcot is a good romantic place.

Actually, the other restaurant at WL is Artist Point. Artist Palate is at SSR.

That aside, I'd agree that Artist Point is a great choice.

Since you are staying at WL, I agree that Artists Point would be a very relaxing, quiet, romantic meal. WL is romantic in itself. After the meal, take a stroll around the grounds, especially once the lights dim.

Thanks Stitch! Artists Point. Artists Palate is on a cruise. Right idea wrong name. Thanks again. :teeth:

My suggestion was going to be Artist Point also. The food here is always delicious and the atmosphere is wonderful also.

For the most relaxing evening, enjoy Artist Point and ask for a nice window seat. You'll not have to travel and it's one of our not to be missed favorite restaurants. Excellent food and excellent service.

I have to agree with the consensus here...go to Artist Point. My husband and I actually got married at WDW, and we had our first meal as husband and wife at this restaurant. Fantastic...beautiful view, great quiet atmosphere. Have a great time!
