No one knows when the end date is. Traditionally the fall incentives have ended the 1st week of February in the new year.

We bought DVC in late January with the Friends & Family promotion. The incentive ran through mid January, but we put down $500 in December and waited until the UY we wanted became available.

I spent 6 months researching here on the Dis. It's the best place to find answers to your questions.

Just posting a reminder to current owners that you will not receive a referral bonus unless your name is mentioned during the *very first* point of contact. Prospective members that have already toured and been assigned a guide or have already started the paperwork can still receive the extra points though -- so it's a nice thing to do.

The "new" 10/10 SSR/VAK Fall incentive program states:
"You do not need to have a referral currently on-file in order to qualify for this offer. The name of a referring member must simply be provided at the time of purchase."

To summarize:

New Member WITHOUT Referral

160 pt minimum purchase
$96 per point net ($104 - $8 incentive) at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas
$94 per point net ($104 - $10 incentive) at Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

New Member WITH Referral

225 pt minimum purchase (to obtain Developer's Points)
$96 per point net ($104 - $8 incentive) at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas

When my family and I bought last year, we were talking with a guide for over two months before I added a referral name. I know for a fact that the member did receive the bonus and I also received the promotion being offered.

Sorry guys -- that's what I'd been told previously. I interpreted that to mean the person purchasing would still qualify for the special incentives...but not necessarily the one giving the referral as it doesn't specifically state that. This in one case where I would be happy to be wrong (and it definitely wouldn't be the first time!). If any of you have given referrals off this thread you might want to call your guide and get clarification to avoid any disappointment down the line.

In the past they used to send out a giftcard to the referring member when their name was provided after-the-fact vs. the actual referral bonus. If this has changed, then it's definitely a change for the better!

My family has been Disney Vacation Club members since 1994, and I purchased my own contract in 2001. I have also worked for the mouse for three summers, so I am perfectly happy to answer questions and provide a referral, especially for a young family who does not know if DVC is right for them.

Hello! My husband and I toured SSR two summers ago, and have thought of buying ever since. We are very interested in the new AKL incentive we are reading about on the DIS boards. We have a 2 bdr villa booked there this June. Can anyone give me advise as to whether this is truly is a good incentive. Also, I understand that we need a referral and many people are offering to give referrals. However, as I am new to the DIS boards I am not sure how to PM people. Please help a very confused mom! Thank you!

the new incentive is what DVC is offering - so if you want to buy now - you either take it or find a resales - which has it own problems.

developer points can be used at any WDW resort - not just the DVC ones.

before it was only for the WDW resort - you couldn't use it at the DVC ones.

but I think that policy was changed?

if you don't mind - how much as you paying for your June reservations - might be enough to pay the 20% down you need to buy DVC. (you can do 10% down but then you would get a higher interest rate). this is only if you are financing.
