We are going to be celebrating our son's 5th birthday in Disney (5/10 - 5/15) and want to go somewhere special for his birthday dinner on the 11th. We plan to be in the MK that day (no Hoppers) and want to be sure we don't miss the fireworks either. I tried O'hana, but no luck. Does anywone have any suggestions that would be extra fun? (We will be using the dining plan).

Thanks!

Crystal Palace? My DS5 isn't really "into" Pooh and friends but still had a great time and the food was good.

My boys all loved Chef Mickey's at that age - still their favorite actually. Anyway, Contemporary is an easy walk or first monorail stop on the way out of MK. No hopping necessary to exit and return to the same park, just get hand-stamped on the way out.

Just replying because my ds will be celebrating his bday on the same date May 11th! We will be at Epcot, and going to the Garden Grill again this year. Good Luck!

CHEF MICKEYS. It's the closest Character meal w/ mickey to the MK (or Pooh is at the Crystal Palace), but i think Chef Micks. has a really fun atmosphere for his Birthday!! Take a break from park, eat at CM, and then go back for nighttime rides and fireworks.

I'd definitely hit Chef Mickey's for this occassion. Your son will love it and it is right next to the Magic Kingdom. It'll also give him some time on the monorail which all little boys just love! :)

I've got to put my vote in for Chef Mickey's as well. Great characters for your ds. Happy birthday early and happy planning!

If you are considering CM I would call right away, the window for that restaurant has been open for some time now and is one of the ADR's that is harder to get.

Also a suggestion if you can't get CM or want to keep trying for 'Ohana's. Call at around the 45 day mark from your trip. That is when Disney requires full payment for packages and maybe some people will have needed to cancel.

Wow - thank you for all the responses. We actually will be doing CM that morning (7:40 - yikes!) but wanted to try for a fab dinner as well. My guess is that he'll be exhausted by that time anyway - but you only turn 5 once!

GatorLady - great idea for O'hana - I will give that a try once we get to 45 days.

Jerseygirlinsi - Happy, happy birthday to your DS! Have fun!
