help!!!

i don't know what happened to the one i had. i can't find the cookbook it was in. does anyone have a really good, knock your socks off recipe for tiramisu? there's no need for low fat or sugar free or anything.

thanks everyone!

i have a really good one that i make it every year for new years eve... i got it from epicurious its eggless but I swear you can't tell the difference... I can't post a link so I'll just post the whole thing:

48 Savoiardi biscuits (like lady fingers)
16 oz Mascarpone cheese
3.5 oz instant vanilla pudding
2 cups milk
8 oz Cool Whip
2 T sugar
1/4 cup Kahlua or brandy
2 cups Greek Coffee
Kahlua to soak the biscuits
Cocoa powder to dust

• Prepare a strong coffee (Greek or espresso) & let cool – add Kahlua to taste.
• Prepare the vanilla pudding according to package recipe and put in fridge.
• Beat Mascarpone cheese with sugar. Add cooled pudding slowly. Beat until completely mixed and the mixture is light and fluffy. Add the Kahlua or brandy. Add 1/3 of the Cool Whip to mixture. (do not over mix)

• Have a rectangular pan (9” x 13” or larger) ready.
• Soak the biscuits very briefly in the coffee/Kahlua mixture only for a few seconds on each side and let the excess liquid drain. Place them in the pan to line the bottom. Spread 2/3 of the cheese mixture over biscuits. Sift some cocoa powder on top to cover. Place another layer of soaked biscuits and top with the remainder cheese mixture. Top with the remaining Cool Whip.
• Cover with sifted cocoa powder.

Put in the fridge overnight

I use the recipe off of the BelGioioso Mascarpone container (recipe is on their website) and add one cup of heavy cream to the recipe (I whip it separately and then combine it all at the end).

I use Brandy and Medaglia D'oro espresso coffee (brewed not instant)

and Savoiardi (Lady Fingers).

If you are in North Jersey, Shop Rite of Parsippany carries all of these products.

Delicious. :)

This is always a winner and soooo easy!

WHITE RUSSIAN TIRAMISU

Ingredients
2 cups STRONG coffee, cooled
1/4 cup Kahlúa (coffee-flavored liqueur), divided
1/2 cup (3 1/2 ounces) mascarpone cheese
1 (8-ounce) block cream cheese, softened
4 oz whipped cream or thawed cool whip
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
50 ladyfingers (I use the hard ladyfinger cookies, top shelf of cookie aisle in grocery store...usually gilda brand...not sure how many are in a package, but I use the entire package.)
2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa, divided
Preparation
Combine the brewed coffee and 2 tablespoons Kahlúa in a shallow dish, and cool.

Combine cheeses in a large bowl. Beat at high speed of a mixer until smooth. Add sugars and 2 tablespoons Kahlua, and beat until well-blended. Fold in whipped cream or cool whip

Quickly dip ladyfingers, quikly on each side, into coffee mixture; place,in the bottom of an 8-inch square baking dish. Spread half of cheese mixture over ladyfingers; sprinkle with 1 teaspoon cocoa. Repeat procedure with remaining ladyfinger halves, coffee mixture, cheese mixture, and 1 teaspoon cocoa.

Place 1 toothpick in each corner and 1 in the center of tiramisu (to prevent plastic wrap from sticking to cheese mixture); cover with plastic wrap. Chill 2 hours.

My favorite recipe is the one that they sell at Costco's for around $10. Its the same one they serve at Olive Garden.

I second the vote on the Classic Tiramisu from allrecipes.com - delicious!

thanks again guys!

i ended up using the one on the package of cheese and i did add the cream like you suggested, ciao mickey. i slipped a little extra brandy in there, though. i'll let you know how it is when we dig into it tomorrow!

think i'm gonna try the other ones, too... but i'll sub whipping cream for the cool whip. i hate that stuff.
