Naturally I ASSUMED the seller was as anxious to sell as I was to buy! I had our final payment and papers back to the title company within 24 hours of passing ROFR... I am so excited to be a new owner that I'm losing perspective on how long this takes. I've also seen other posters who passed rofr after I did who have already closed their contracts. I know direct sales are immediate but resales.. in general, how long have you found that they take?? ...not that I'm impatient or anything! ha ha :cool1:

After passing ROFR, it usually takes 7-10 days for Disney to make sure the title is clear and all MF's have been paid. Once that happens, Disney notifies the title company. The title company will then send you the closing documents. Typically, final payment is not sent until you return the signed closing documents but you indicated you have already sent this to the title company. Once the title company receives the final payment and signed closing documents from the buyer and the seller, they issue a Warranty Deed. After you receive notice from the title company that the Deed has been sent to Disney, it takes another 7-10 days to transfer ownership in Disney's system. You should receive instructions from the resale company about how to contact Disney. I called Disney at the 7 day mark and told them I was a new member. They had me in the system and gave me my member number, set up an account on the website and let me book a reservation all in the same phone call. Disney will send you your membership package in the mail about 2-3 weeks after you are in their system.

You can't control the sellers. Contact your Broker and ask what the Sellers status is.

I actually had contacted the title company as I knew the next step was for the paperwork to be returned to her from the seller, but I will follow up with the broker as well.
As my points have no 2010 usage, I'm thinking the seller is using their March points, and conveniently "forgot" to mention that they wouldn't be able to close until after they'd used them ... or maybe I watch too much cloak and dagger conspiracy stuff! :rotfl2:

I will definitely request an early close date next time I purchase ( see, I caught the bug already!)
