Who has stayed in the front of the ship on Deck 7? Is there a lot of movement in general being in the front as opposed to the aft?

NEED A QUICK ANSWER to change ressies.

THANKS!!!!!!!

I don't think you will like my answer, but, I have heard both ways. I have heard some people say no problem with the movement and others say they would never do it again? Maybe it depends on the weather during that cruise.

We have only stayed on deck 7 forward...7010, 7503, and will be in 7504 next cruise. I felt more movement in PC and that is aft & lower in the ship. The gentle rocking put us all to sleep quickly. We LOVE the location! Just wanted to add that on our first cruise we had 20+ foot swells for a couple days & we were still fine. I did take Bonine but none of the others in my family did.

The front of the ship is so far our favorite spot. In rough seas it has a distinctive up and down movement, with very little side to side movement. I like being rocked to sleep. Both my wife and I feel the up/down movement is less noticable to us than the side to side movement you get in the stern of the ship. We were only in 8-10 foot swells. Hope that helps.

Don't know how to give you a link to my post about this same thing, but it is June 6 at 6:56. There were some great answers and links to other posts.

We stayed in room 7012 and LOVED it...it was a GREAT location...didn't notice alot of movement....actually felt more movement in other areas than in our cabin or the hall outside. We liked the location so much when we rebooked we picked rooms 7004 and 7006. :teeth:

Can't say about deck 7 but we were in 6011 which is one deck lower but even farther forward if I'm reading the deck plans correctly. We loved it. None of us took anything and I LOVED being rocked to sleep each night.

I just got back from the June 4th West Coast....stateroom 7000 all the way forward. We had rough seas the last day (8ft-13ft) and even that didn't bother us. The room was great. You could feel the up and down motion more but there was none of the side to side motion felt there. I cruise with a person very sensitive to motion. She felt sick in Parrot Cay that day (because of the side to side motion) but not in the room. She actually went back to the room to lay down. If she can handle all the way forward anyone can. I really like this location!

Tarheel Girl,

I've convinced my parents to go with us on a cruise next February, and have them booked into cabin 7000 -- did you have any complaints about it? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

No complaints at all! I really liked the location. You are three decks about the theatre, two decks below the spa and quiet cove pool. Ideal spot for adults in my opinion. The only thing that was a little different is at the end of the hall, immediately to the left of the stateroom door, is a crew only door. Crew would come down the hall to enter that door some. It was never bothersome but I did 'look both ways before entering the hall'. :goodvibes I just didn't want to be in their way. There is an up and down motion felt more there. Not anything that would bother anyone. Just enough to put you to sleep. Hope you have a great time with your parents! My parents are going next August with me!

I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Everyone is always so helpful on these boards! :cheer2:

we stayed in 7001 and loved it. didn't feel any extra motion that was noticable. we think staying forward is better because your closer to the adult areas .

We stayed in 7001 in April 2004 and loved it. We have rebooked for nexxt March and have rooms 7003 and 7005 (connecting). You are very close to the upper decks and a couple of decks from everything else.

We just returned a from cruise and was in room 7003. Very quiet area of ship. As far as movement we felt very little. We probably felt more in mid ship upper decks.

Have stayed in many of the same rooms as Scrapper Jill has (no, not at the same time!), 7012, 7004 w/ DBIL & DSIL in 7006, and 7014, with 7508 booked for next year. Some gentle rocking (you are on a ship at sea, after all--it is a cruise SHIP, after all) but never any sickness up front. Ironically were upgraded from 7502 (cat. 8) to 7132 (cat. 5--AFT) back in January, and the first night while crossing the gulfstream was the only night in 22 nights at sea that DW or I felt any motion sickness, but in all fairness there were 16 foot seas and many folks all over the ship were feeling it. Love the front of deck 7, quiet location, not much hallway traffic, easy access to deck 9 for pools, etc., just a few flights down to shows and restaurants, really only ever took elevator when re-boarding on deck 1 after a day at the beach while in port.
