Need a Prayer

Praise God! I am so thankful that your friend is making such wonderful improvements. I will continue to lift her in prayer to God for a full and complete recovery. Please keep us updated on her progress. Oh, and how is her DH?

My friend is being moved today to a rehabilitation facility. The trache tube has been removed and if all went well yesterday evening, the feeding tube in her stomach will come out too! All the IVs are gone, so once the stomach tube and the cath are out, she will be weaned from everything! They just have to be sure that she can swallow and eat some foods - she is eating alot of sherbert, yogurt, etc right now! She is awake more than not, but still has trouble speaking and communicating. She still can't move her left arm or leg, although the tests show that it is probably due to the severe bruising that she still has on the right side of her brain. Hopefully the 5-6 hrs of therapy that they will do each day will help her out.

When I call - she sometimes answers the phone! It is mostly a moaning or whining sound, but sometimes you can make out some words and I am sure she understands everything I say.

Thanks for all the prayers! Keep them coming!

Great news! Tell her that she is inspiring us all. And how's her DH?

It's great to hear that your friend is improving :sunny: I am a nurse who has worked on a neurosurgical unit for almost 15 years. Head injuries sometimes take a long time to heal/recover. We find that rehab works wonders :goodvibes all that intensive therapy is really benificial. :wizard: :wizard:

Oh what a relief your friend is doing better! I have tears in my eyes right now thinking what she must be going (and has been) through. Really she is inspiring. I hope she is able to get well enough to go home soon. I'm sure she probably misses home as much as her family misses having her there!
