Hi all,

Well I'm at a point where a need a little extra something to help me finish up with my goals. I tend to do pretty good when I have a plan laid out before me.

I was looking into getting one of the 90 day programs (finished Jillian's 30 day shred.)

Has anyone experienced one, two or even three of these?
P90X2
Insanity
Jillian's body Revolution

If so, what are the good and bars? How do they compare? How were your results? Did it keep it interesting throughout the program?

Thanks!

I have done Insanity and P90X, as well as several of Jillian's other videos (but not body revolution, which does look good). Insanity is by far my favorite workout ever! Honestly, I attribute my new love of fitness to Insanity...it is just so intense and you feel an incredible sense of accomplishment when you finish! Yes, the workouts are hard, but isn't that the point? We are currently doing a 3rd round of Insanity in addition to our 1/2 marathon training, and it is still just as hard as it was day one, even though I do the moves much faster and with better form. If I had to choose only 1 workout program to keep for the rest of my life, I would pick Insanity in a heartbeat. Having said that, I think you will get results from any of these programs as long as you stick with them and eat a healthy diet. So I think you should pick whichever one you think will motivate you the most. Do you enjoy weights/pull-ups/push-ups with some cardio mixed in? If yes, do P90X. To me, P90X was a little boring and the cardio was way too easy, but I did Insanity first so most cardio seems easy compared to that, you know? Do you enjoy cardio more? If yes, do Insanity. Do you like both and want a combination, give Jillian a try.

I think that the one that would be best for you would depend on a few things. The main ones that come to my mind are your current level of fitness and your time commitment.

I tried P90x, but I wasn't ready for it. I was a casual runner, and I'd recently finished my 2nd half-marathon, but I just wasn't ready for P90x. For me, it was intense, and it was a HUGE sucker of time. I was spending 1-1.5 hours a DAY just on P90x. The days that I ran too, I was spending another 30ish mins on a quick 3-5 miles. On days I wanted to do long runs, I would skip p90x because I just didn't want to give up that much time that I could otherwise be spending with my family.

So, I dropped p90x after about a week and a half. It was also very discouraging for me because my upper body wasn't /isn't very strong and I was only doing a handful of reps.

I just started doing the 30 day Shred. I like that it's difficult but doable, and that it's less than a half hour. If you've finished it and liked her style, why not try another one of her workouts? there are many to choose from and most of them have reviews (on Amazon). There's Ripped in 30, 6 week 6pack, no more trouble zones, Extreme shed and Shred. There are also the Biggest Loser workout videos that I've read good things about too.

That's just my humble opinion. Take it for what it's worth to you. :goodvibes

The only one I have tired is P90X2. I love it, but it is hard! The key is to modify the moves you can't do and stay in the game. I feel stronger and can do things that I have never been able to do. (like a real push up)

I've had great results too! I am getting abs for the first time in my life, my DH is looking really good too.
