Hi,

Well all plans are made, all ADR's are made, and well I've been reading on the boards that if you have reservations at Hollywood and Vine, to get out now. So, I've decided to only spend one day at Universal Studios and the other day for rest/pool and whatever we want to do. So I thought I'd cancel the Hollywood and Vine ressies and do another reservation. Daughter is 13, loves steak and american food. Where would you try to get a reservation? I need one that is not a signuature as I only will have the 2 TS left. Thanks.

Not sure were your other ADR's are already set for but I would recommend lunch at Le Cellier and dinner at 'Ohana. Those are 2 of my families favorites. We also love Donalds Safari breakfast at Tusker House.

Do you mean you'll spend one day at Hollywood Studios?

The Wave might be a good choice. They have a yummy beef filet on the menu and its in the Contemporary so you wouldn't need a park ticket. Also Cape May Cafe is near Studios so might be a good choice though its seafood and not steak.

Check out something in Epcot.... It is an easy walk for HS

Hi,

Since you are looking to replace an H&V ADR I will assume this is a DHS day. The easiest transport option is to take the boat from DHS to the Epcot-area resorts. Cape May Cafe at BC has a non-character dinner buffet that includes both seafood and 'regular' American food; the ribs get high marks there. Captain's Grill is a 1 TS option at YC that also has a pretty straightforward menu. It's a bit further away but Turf Club at SSR also has a pretty 'classic American' menu.

I also suggest Ohana, from what I see it is a favorite! Check out Kona's menu. I was pleasantly suprised by the reviews and I have booked it for our first trip!

Thanks for the responses. I did not quite clarify, but since we have an extra day, now that I'm not doing the 2nd US day, I wanted to have another nice dinner and figured we could sleep late, hang out and then have dinner. Getting bad vibes on Hollywood and Vine so I cancelled. Eating at Prime Time for lunch that day and can do a CS for dinner. After going through all of the menus, and seeing what was available I made reservations at Kona. Will be on the monorail so can then go to Epcot for EMH. This looked pretty good and knowing what DD eat this was my best choice. Had the option of 1900 Park Fare for dinner but we already have several character meals. Any thoughts on Kona or other suggestions???

Thanks.

For "American" food, you could try Beaches and Cream at the Yacht and Beach Club. It's a 50's type resturant with good old fashioned burgers, onion rings and ice cream specialties. Or if you want a more country american, then I would suggest Trails End Buffet at Fort Wilderness Resort and campground. Both are a little on the less expensive side, so if you are on the DDP and want to get the most bang for your buck, they may not be the best choices. But both are fun family resturants and my family really likes them both.

One thing I did learn about Kona is that Kona also offers Sushi. I adore Sushi, so this was a plus for me. It does not show on any online menus but they do offer it. The Kona Cone, which is a huge dessert with cotton candy coming out of it will be a special treat for my son. Don't expect much for ambiance. I read that is where this resturaunt is lacking. I guess we will see!

we enjoyed Kona on our last trip and my husband really liked the sushi. Plus depending on the time, you may be able to catch the electric water pageant from the beach after dinner. I think they still do that nightly around 9.
