Check the booking tool FREQUENTLY and multiple times a day. Chances might improve closer to NYE as people decide to go/cancel/modify.

Travel agents as fyi have no special access or insight other than just being professionally persistent and diligent to find openings.

How does that work if someone adds you onto their reservation and you need to personally back out, can that add-on still go without the person who originally booked the reservation? Just curious but not needing to do it myself.

The rule is that, technically speaking, the lead name on the reservation (the person who made it) has to be the one to check in and formally accept it. The site is only released to the reservation holder. Any guests on that site are the responsibility of the lead name on the reservation.

Well it may have been easier at one time to work around the rules. But since the new guard shack is there, now you need your license, which needs to match the reservation. So kind of tough, now a days.

Call them and see if they can help. Maybe they can change the lead name on the reservation?
