Need a new dishwasher

Love my Bosch. Have had it for over 10yrs without a single service call. See if you can get a discount on a floor model. They've never had water run thru them! That's what we did and saved a bundle.

We bought a middle of the road Whirlpool from Lowes. The unit itself has been good. They gave us free install and free take away. Whirlpool gets good reliablity marks from the consumer magazines.

We bought a samsung from lowes and hated it. We went back after 1 month and exchanged for a Kitchen aid. It was just delivered yesterday so I don't know how this one works yet.

Average dishwashers seem to have a limited life spam, I just don't know why?

I too am interested in these replies...and the current on is only about 10 years old, in my world applicances should last longer than that!

We are in the same boat! Our Maytag dishwasher of 2 years died suddenly - errrrr. I will never buy another Maytag appliance. We had put all Maytag in when we built the house 10 years ago and none of them have lasted. So, we will be shopping around this weekend, too. If we don't find something, I will be stocking up on paper plates!

I have a Bosch that I love. Got it at Sears last winter for $475.

Budget tip.... this does not help in an emergency but if you can see your gonna need one and have a few months to look this can work.

In our Lowes and Sears, they always put miss orders, dented and so on in the back at sometimes 1/2 off. I have bought a stove and a microwave this way. I also need to start looking for a dishwasher. My stove was dented real bad on the side which is hidden because my stove sits between 2 cabinets. In most cases these are special order items so on higher end and they come with waranty.

Note that our Sears does have a seperate building for this and they do offer scratch/dent and refurbished. Also I am told by a builder that in larger areas they have a Scratch/Dent warehouse that business sell to, ask the manager in your local store where they send these appliances. Remember they get new items weekly so check often.
