Help! So I'm in the process of writing my Pre trip report for my next disney trip... but I don't have many readers! So my last post

New Camera Needed!

was left unresponded too! :rotfl:

Oh well, I really need a new camera to use inside the parks and out because I dropped and broke my old one last March in Epcot!

What are some really good quality, light, durable, and easy to use cameras?

Please HELP! Thanks :goodvibes

What kind of budget do you have? what kind of features do you want? Do ou want a pocket camera, something with a lot of zoom, a DSLR..... there's a lot of options and a lot of great cameras out there.

Ah! I don't know! I don't know what DSLR means? I guess I want something small, it doesn't have to fit in a pocket I don't mind carrying a bag for it, or making my boyfriend carry it! :rotfl: But I guess I would like a good zoom feature, I don't really know the difference between all of the different settings besides portrait and landscape... I don't have a good camera and I don't know what my budget would be I'm getting anywhere below $400 but I'm willing to pay as long as it will last me a long time, considering a don't drop it.

If you don't mind the price take a look at sony's Nex-5n or Nex-7.

They are mirrorless DSLR thus small.

Panasonic has mirrorless and I think Pentax too. Canon is said to be working on one due out sometime this year.

What is mirrorless and what are the benefits of it?

Mirrorless cameras are similar to DSLR's in that they have interchangeable lenses and some even have the same size sensors as the crop DSLR's, but they lack the SLR part. That is, the mirror that bounces the image projected from the lens up to the view finder, which is what makes a Single Lens Reflex camera what it is. The mirrorless use electronic view finders or an LCD screen on the back (or both). Taking the mirror out makes for a much more compact camera.

It's a best of both worlds type thing... you can get DSLR, or near DSLR, sensor performance in a point and shoot sized package.
