Liz,
So good to hear this update. I know you would like to know what this was even though it doesn't change much. Still, nice to know. I'm glad to see she is improving. That is great. She is such a fighter--an inspiration to us all! Don't worry about others needing prayers--God is most powerful and can listen to all. {{{hugs}}} to you all.

Saying another prayer for Laura. Any tests results in yet Liz?

WE HAVE A DISCHARGE DATE!!!!!!!! We get to go home Nov. 13th, next Wednesday! Can hardly wait!!! Each morning I wake up now I think "I am so tired of being here!!!"

The latest test results for West Nile came back negative. They are going to test her again in 2-3 months. Some people just can't take no for an answer! They think because she's immunosuppressed that it might slow down her production of the antibodies they are testing for.

She's still making progress in therapy. They have her walk each day with a walker. Its so hard for her that she's in tears by the end but she tries so hard. They are teaching her how to walk up stairs since I found out I couldn't lift her in the wheelchair up our stairs. My DH can but we can't always depend on him to be home when we need to go somewhere.

The Infectious Diseases doctors are still trying so hard to figure out what caused this. I think its the natural curiousity of the "scientist" in them. Our pediatrician (who has been so incredibly wonderful through all this) said they keep asking for permission to do another spinal tap on Laura so they'll have more fluid to test. He tells them no way, she's been through enough and it won't help as far as any treatment. We agree with him!

That is such great new, Liz! I was just wondering how Laura was doing. Wednesday will be a day to celebrate, that's for sure. I hope her therapy continues well, and she can walk again, unaided, real soon.
