Here goes, Family of 5(myself, DD, my parents & brother)

We need a little information from the wonderful people that have stayed there before.

OKW-how was the transportation to the parks. not too sure about the pools? the 2-bedroom looks wonderful and would be the one we would pick.

GF-would be a great place, but mom wants a-home-away-from-home, she is considering this resort. very close to the MK and a great pool.

FW-great place we've stayed there before, its just we would like to stay some where new.

we will only be stopping there before the cruise, so we have been limited to 2 nights.

Can only comment about the GF, and it is a GREAT resort. We love the place, and usually stay there when going to WDW. The entire resort experience makes a stay at the GF wonderful. Here are some pictures from my most recent stay there: Exterior Pictures and Lagoon View Room.

OK, we've stayed at both GF and OKW (we're DVC members). If you've never stayed in a 1BR or 2BR at OKW you'll be blown away as soon as you enter by how big and wonderful it is. It's nice having real couches and chairs to sit in vs. laying around on the beds or a small chair. Be warned though that unless you're paying cash to Disney for the OKW room you won't have daily maid service. Buses, like all the resorts now a days is hit or miss, some say it stinks some say no problems, I haven't had any problems with bus service.

We've stayed in the GF a number of years ago, in the main building and loved it also. It's a great resort but frankly I think it's a bit over priced, unless you got a good discount.

So bottom line is if money isn't the issue, and you're staying only a couple days go with the GF, else OKW.

Also, OKW pools are nothing special. If you're into the pool thing, you should make sure they at least put you near a quiet pool if not the main one. This resort is so spread out we would have had to take a bus to get to the main pool from where we were, and it just wasn't worth the trip. In fact, my husband and son made only one trek to a quiet pool all week.

I am a member at OKW. You may have some trouble getting reservations at OKW because there is only a very limited non-member inventory to rent out. The bus service at OKW is just about the worse you can find at WDW. The pools have no slide which is fine by me not others. I would not recommend OKW to someone that has only two days and probably is trying to get around to the various parks, unless you just want to chile out and relax, then that may be another story. I have stayed at most of the resorts over the years and would say GF is the best.

Well we have a 2 year old and we stayed at GF this summer and LOVED it! I had always dreamed of staying there and was not dissapointed. We had a room in Sago Cay and it was very close to the convenience restaraunt and we used our refilable mug quite a bit. I have not stayed anywhere else that is a deluxe except CR, so I can't comment on those.
