Need a little monorail advice

Not all that familiar with the monorail -- only rode it once last time -- so was wondering if you vets could tell me how much time I should plan on for getting from Epcot to the Contemporary. We have an ADR for Concourse Steakhouse at 7:50 p.m. Also, am I correct in thinking that we take a monorail from Epcot to TTC and then get on a DIFFERENT monorail from TTC to the Contemporary?

Thanks so much -- WDW trips just wouldn't be the same without the DIS!
:thumbsup2

Yes you are right, you will have to switch monorails. Upon exiting the monorail at the TTC you will go past the MK monorail to the resort monorails. I would leave about a half an hour to 45 min to reach the Contemporary. The ride from Epcot is probably around 10min and then you have to switch to the resort monorail and that will take another few mins. plus its always good to allow extra time in case of delay or if you have to wait for a monorail or two. They also tell you to arrive about 15 min early for your ADR.

i'd allow an hr...the ride isn't long but if you have to wait it can add 20 mins and you conceivably could wait 2 times..

our last trip we were taking the boat from mk to the poly...could see it from the dock but it took us 55 mins to get there since we had to wait for another boat and we nearly missed our adr( had allowed 40 mins but it wasn't enough) this was in off season but you just never know. never again will i allow less than an hr just cause it's not worth maybe missing your adr ( which they hold for 15 mins btw)

That's about what I was thinking. Thanks so much for the input! How do people ever plan trips without the DisBoards???

Another option....especially if you're in World Showcase...leave the back way and walk/boat to YC/BC or BWI (10 min) then take a bus to Magic Kingdom, then walk to Contemporary. Its a 5 min walk from where the bus drops you off at MK.

The Contemporary will be the last stop on the resort monorail from the TTC. So you will have to ride the entire circuit to the Poly, GF, MK and then back to the Contemporary.

You'd be much, much, much better off taking a bus from EPCOT to CR for your meal. It will take about 1/3 the amount of time the "monorail to TTC, transfer, monorail to CR route" (yes, you would have to almost complete the entire resort monorail circuit from TTC to CR). The bus is a much more direct route, and I'm not sure it has any stops at all, except possibly for one of the MK-area resorts, which typically are about the fastest stops in WDW.

Those are the folks who show up a half hour late for dinner and arrive at the MK at 10AM when the park had EMH at 8AM!

One more bit of monorail advice: "Please stand clear of the doors!" :lmao:
