I am trying to sort out the "All Access" pass thing.

I see there is one I can sign up for that is free, and one that is $25. The one for $25 includes a $20 food credit to be used in "the cafes". I see the address for the hotel and the Orlando Cafe are different, which makes me think they are different things.

If I get the free membership does it work for hotel upgrades? Because it sounds like it is just a Cafe benefit.

If I pay for the membership so I can get hotel upgrades can I use that $20 in the hotel, or do we have to go to the Cafe?

We NEVER go to the Hard Rock here in Dallas so I can't imagine that the paid membership will be all that useful if the credit isn't valid in the hotel.

When I went to HRH in August I signed up for the free All Access at checkin and was given a free room upgrade. I guess upgrade depends on how busy they are and what kinds of rooms are available.

Thanks! I suppose I will start by signing up for the free one. I will see what sort of info they send with it. If it says it is valid for hotel things, great. If not, we will think about doing the paid membership. :)

We are just staying at HRH for one night so we aren't terribly concerned about not being able to get an upgrade. But it would be nice!

OK, I am dense because I can't find the free one! How do I sign up for that? The one you pay for won't really work for me because I won't normally use the benefits.

I sent an e-mail to Hard Rock customer care asking them to clarify if the free membership can be used for hotel upgrades. They replied that it can, but NOT on the visit that they first give you the card. But someone here already reported that she was upgraded at the time the card was given to her, so obviously they aren't quite all on the same page. I signed up to have the free one MAILED to me, so I will have the card in my possession when we arrive.

I also asked very specific questions about where the complimentary credits can be redeemed ($5 on the free membership, $20 on the paid one) and they didn't answer ANY of those questions. Way to make me want to pay for a membership, Hard Rock! I tried to phone but they are in a meeting. I can call back tomorrow. Which brings me to the question: How much time do I really want to invest in this? I mean, seriously? So we'll see.

At this point I seriously doubt I will be purchasing a membership because I don't want to pay for it and not be able to redeem the $20 credit at the hotel.

Not only can you *not* use the credits at the hotel, but the money you spend at the hotel will not earn you any new credits either. It's basically for the cafes, I've had one for years and have never been allowed to use it for anything at any of their hotels.

Good to know! :thumbsup2

Like I said, this is a one night stay we booked basically just for the Express Pass thing. We'll go to US one day, stay overnight at HRH, go to IOA the next day, then back to WDW for the rest of our vacation.

Since we are not big patrons of Hard Rock Cafes or hotels I think we can skip the paid membership. :)

I bought the All Access card years ago.

I did it mainly for the Rock Shop on line and for Hard Rock Cafe stores.

I received 2 cards when I signed up but that was about 5 years ago.

They now issue only one card.

Each time you buy or eat at HRC, show your card and you will receive points on it.

When you reach a certain number of points, you will have credit on your All Access card.

There are some benefits to the membership.
Look at their website for details.

I did read about one person that was upgraded at their first stay at HRH.
They received the AA card free, but it is a different program than the one i bought into as I did receive the $20 credit immediately and the free HRC draw string backpack and 2 hrc pins.

I am assuming that the person that received the free upgrade was lucky.
The hotel probably had more rooms open and the TM at the front desk wanted to make their first stay unique.

The onsite hotels can easily sell out on the garden rooms, which are at the lowest cost.

If you book for the garden and get the free upgrade for pool view, they can book that basic room easily.

Most people like paying for the lower cost rooms.

Thank you!

You're welcome!

I phoned Hard Rock Customer Care and the lady I spoke with confirmed that the All Access credit is NOT valid for redemption at the Orlando HRH restaurants, only the Cafe. She did say it can be redeemed in the retail shop.

Hope that info is helpful - I know it has definitely helped me decide the paid membership isn't worthwhile for our family. :)

you are correct.

if you do not buy the merch from the Rock Shop on line, shop or eat in any of the HRC places, and do not shop at the HRH gift store, the paid membership will not be beneficial to you.

it is good for me as i buy all new pins that come out and other merch at hrc.

I figure the kids will spend the gift card at the shop (it will work right?) and I am getting a free membership to Rolling Stone magazine. So it's paying for itself. Do you get the free room upgrade with the paid membership on the first use? I hope so, I booked a Standard room in August at HRH.

The Disney pins are enough of a sucking, black money pit for me, thanks! :rotfl2:

DH used to have a small collection of Hard Rock Cafe T-shirts that I would buy when I traveled, but I don't travel anymore so he hasn't had a new Hard Rock shirt in YEARS. I am sure we will browse through the shop at the hotel - DS can probably find something to spend the $5 credit on. :)

Is it possible to purchase the All Access membership at the Cafes?

If not, how long does it take after purchasing online before your membership card arrives?

TIA :)

I signed up for the free one a lil while back. If it has any benefits then great & if it doesn't then I'm not out anything. I guess it all comes down to who you talk to & who checks you in. When I made the reservation I told the girl I was an All Access member and she was like great! I'll note that on your reservation. So, who knows....:confused3 Either way, it'll be a great trip! :cutie:

The website states allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.

We bought it and have renewed it. I used it at check in and went from a standard room to a pool view room. The hotel wasn't busy at that time...it also helps when you eat at the Hard Rock Cafe. You get priority seating.
