Need a little help

The family will be staying at Shades of Green for a week in late February, and a few of us want to spend a day at Universal.

We will buy tickets at Shades of Green, $62 per person, no tax, for 2 park, 1 day tickets, but they don't have the express option.

Anybody know what the price is at Universal to add the express option onto our tickets? And how I go about doing it? On the website, I could only find a combined price that was something really crazy, like $150 a ticket which included express.

That sounds about right, express passes are expensive. Express passes for Halloween Horror Nights cost more than the tickets themselves in many cases. If you're concerned about the price the best advice would be to prioritize your visit, decide what are your must-see attractions and be there about an hour before the scheduled opening time so you're right up front.

Hi Jack Usually when I stay at SOG, we book one less day at the end of the vacation, and book the last day at a Universal resort. When you do that, your room key gives you front-of-the-line (FOTL) access to the rides.....unlimited. With the express pass you buy, you only get one pass per ride. It's definitely worth the extra money you pay at the other resort.

Also, if you check in early in the morning, you get FOTL for two days, even if you only stay one night!

express passes aren't that expensive.
the highest i have seen has been in the $50 range.


check the calendar on the UO site for the cost for the dates you will be going.


only during the hard ticket event of HHN, would the express passes be expensive at $69.99.
the op stated they are going to universal in Feb.

to beat the crowds, go early.
be at the garage parking lot by 8:00.

if you start at IOA, they sometimes open early around 8:30 ish.
you can get the major coaster rides done then without lines.

you can always wait and decide if you want to buy the epp while in the park.
you do not have to buy it in advance. they are sold at many of the stores.

you can use it for one ride/attraction once in the express lane.

Thanks, I think I understand a bit better now how it works. I will wait to see the prices for the date in February, and then make the decision, maybe on the fly, if we need it at all.

We are good park planners, and early arrivers, so we might not have too much trouble on a weekday in February.
