So I have to email shore side concierge on Sunday for my upcoming honeymoon cruise on the Fantasy Star Wars day at Sea. I've gotten a list of what I'm going to request, but would like some opinions on some things.

  • I'm going to request a Cabana on Serenity Bay (that's what the adult beach is called correct?) Is there a particular cabin number I should request? I've never stayed in a Cabana before and I'm not really sure if it matters which one we get or not?
  • For the Star Wars meet and greets can I tell them I'd like them all and don't really care what time they are at? I'm also wanting to do a Mixology class the same day so I'm assuming they'd just work around that time? Does anyone know if it's offered on a port day as well as a sea day?
  • We decided to do just Remy and not Palo for dinner. I was originally thinking of doing it on pirate night, but I just read on here that they are changing the firework show to be earlier and I don't want to miss that. What other night would be good to experience this dinner?
  • My favorite food from the MDR is that truffle pasta dish, can't remember the name exactly. Does anyone know which dining room has it and what night it's served on? I'm not a big fan of the food in MDR and don't mind missing a lot of the nights there, but don't want to miss this dish.
  • I liked those pillows that are cold, do they have an official name or will they know what I'm talking about when I say cold pillows?
Thanks! I'm really excited this is my second time in concierge, but first time booking early enough to send this email.

Can't help with most of your questions, but will point out that this year the Star Wars meet & greets were on other days as well as Star Wars day. If you want to do them on Star Wars day I would make sure you noted that in your email.
And we really like the Star Wars dinner, so you probably shouldn't do Remy that night. But then that is course personal preference :).
The truffle pasta dish is the first night you are at Animators Palate. But you would need to know your rotation so you don't miss it.

I can only address the Black Truffle Pasta Purseittes. They’re the first night in AP, we had them the first night of the cruise on our last DCL cruise. We love them so much and commented how great they are to our servers. The following 2 nights our server brought out 2 orders for us with the normal appetizers we ordered even though we were in different MDR’s.

Thanks! I didn't realize they were on multiple days. I'll take a look at an old navigator to see when things were offered to get a better idea. I was thinking having it all on Star Wars day made sense for the theme, but it does make sense having them spread out so more people can do them. I do want to try the Star Wars dinner And that's good to know when the dish is. I'll request to be in that restaurant the first night

They are pretty amazing. And that's awesome they did that for you! I'm definitely going to request to be in that restaurant the first night. I know with our room we could have the food served in our cabin. I was thinking of doing this one night for a romantic meal. I'll definitely be requesting this dish.

The star wars characters meet and greets are those that you can pre-book (same for Marvel Day at sea cruises) and are not shown on the navigators (think Princess M&G or Anna/Elsa M&G). in 2017, you could only choose 2 of the 5 (you actually ranked your choices on a sheet that you turned in once on the ship) but now you just book what you want on the website. So for you, if you want to do all of them via the Concierge Booking, you would likely have to tell them all on one day or ask them to see what they can arrange over the few days they do them and see how it works with your schedule for mixology and other things. During the SWDAS day, there are also roaming characters in the atrium, and stormtroopers patrolling the pool deck at various times, but this is not actually a "Designated Meet and Greet" type of situation.

for the pirates firework show, this changes over the year based upon the itinerary and what time the sun goes down. I don't think it is a permanent change, as other recent trip reports and navigators have it at 10:15 (including the August 4th sailing of the Fantasy).

That's because the menu that has that item on it is still being served (in the proper dining room). So the item is still being made in the galley. Generally, the first 3 nights of any given cruise each dining room has it's own Signature menu. Subsequent nights the same menu is served in all dining rooms (and different from any of the Signature menus).

Typically, it's not a problem to retrieve an item out of the galley for another dining room, if the item is already being made. The real magic comes in when the item shows up on a night that it's not actually on a menu already being served that night.

The Star Wars meets won't be in the navigators. You need to book tickets for them. In January we had Darth Vader, Chewbacca, & the Droids as the ticketed meets. On Star Wars day they started at 8am and went all day (I think). We did ours at 10, 10.30 & 11am (we had hard to get out of bed teenagers lol). We wanted to do them on the day as some of us were dressed in costume and it is the actual SWDAS.

Thanks, I'm going to mention we'd rather something later in the morning we typically sleep in.

I'll make a note about the fireworks, since I'd rather not miss them Would shore side services know if the sailing would have the fireworks later? Or would the people on the ship be the only ones who would know?

I've only been in a cabana on the family beach but when I sent in our requests to concierge I gave them my top 3 and then stated that any other cabana on the family beach would be fine. We received our first choice. You can look at the CC map and see which Serenity Beach cabanas are closer to the things of importance to you (food, bathroom, shuttle).
