....supposed to be leaving to disney tomorrow from Canada ...but parents House just got broken into. We are still going but I feel so so sick and all my disney excitement is gone and filled with fear and sadness of this exciting time. ..
Really could just use some cheering up..I don't know what to think.

It's just surreal....brother thought it was mom upstairs packing. ..but then wondered why she was throwing stuff around the house. .
Gah....everyone's fine but it's just messed up. ..

That's so terrifying! I'm glad that everyone is okay! Do you have someone who can check in on things while your gone? Or have neighbors keep an eye out? That can help set your mind at ease.

Belleoftheballl -- I know the feeling. My mom's house was broken into a few years ago (Chicago). It's decidedly upsetting and can leave you feeling vulnerable. The good news is that, statistically, this is an unlikely event. A second break is even more unlikely. FWIW, I suspect what will happen' is that you'll feel vulnerable for a bit. But going to DL will still be a blast. I think you'll realize once you get there the importance of not letting this unpleasant event taint your vacation. At least I hope so.

When will you be there? I'm taking my brother this Sunday.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. My house has been broken into, and it feels awful. It's very violating. I'm glad you are all okay. Hopefully Disney will be a good distraction, and it will help you focus on the fact that you are there together, and everyone is okay.

You have my most sincere sympathy. We know just what you are going through right now. In addition to what the other posters have said, make sure your parents' local police dept. knows they will be gone and for how long. Ask them to drive by the house regularly just to check on things. Our Disney trip (which came right on the heels of the break in, just like in your case) was one of the best things for us. At first we were nervous and unsettled, but within a day or two, the yuck started melting away and the happy started coming back. This will be a really good trip for your family. Hope that you really do have a magical time!
