We are going to be arriving in the Lake Buena Vista area around 2:30/3:00 am and don't want to head to CBR that night as we are surprising DS with a pirate room and carrying him in sleeping won't be much of a surprise...and, if he does happen to be awake, he'll stay up all night enjoying the room and we will be ready to crash.

I want to be right outside WDW though, having a short drive into CBR.

Anyone have a suggestion for a cheap but clean place in the area. We don't need anything but a clean bed to sleep in, as we will be going to CBR as soon as we wake up to meet up with my parents and sisters.

There are hotels right in the DTD area that are technically on property but not Disney resorts. I would recommend the Best Western, it is clean and very nice, but very inexpensive. :)

I have stayed in the marriott village and it is nice and safe there especially if you are arriving so late. There is a Courtyard, Fairfield and one other Marriott brand right in the village. It is right outside DTD and then south about a half mile. I have also heard good things about Holiday Inn Express lake buena vista, FL which is just outside DTD and to the North. HTH

I guess i am low budget but i stay in Kiss the night before going into Disney. Imho, you get a better room when you check in around 9 or 10am. I always use the "red book" for hotel rooms. Take a look and see if there is anything you like. We stayed at a travelodge and it was old but clean and cheap. Save the money for Disney.... http://travelcoupons.com/ just click on Florida and then look for Kiss. Have a great time.

Do you know if any one of the Marriott hotels is batter than another?

How about Baymont Inns and Suites? I think they're newish , clean, well priced (google and call them too). also, pretty close to wdw

Any one else stayed there?

GL have fun:banana:

Check for hotels on International Drive too.

Does the Orlado Magic card still exist? You may be able to find discounts for hotels on I-Drive. We booked a room one night for ~$70/night on I-Drive during spring break.

GOOD LUCK!

Check out Priceline's "name your own price" for the Orlando area. You can see on their map the area you're bidding in, and you can get very close to Disney.

I like to check the Bidding For Travel forums to see what hotels might show up at a particular price level and what recent prices have been. They also have tips on how to get the best prices. Google "BiddingForTravel" - the Dis boards don't like the full URL. There's at least one other Priceline related forum but I don't recall where it's at. Perhaps someone could post it?

The Springhill Suites has a separate sitting area, so more room. It also has breakfast.

The Fairfield is a basic hotel room. They have continental breakfast too.

The Courtyard is maybe slightly above the basic hotel room (at least maybe slightly above the Fairfield). I don't think they have breakfast included. At least, the last time I looked at those 3 hotels, it didn't.

DH and I have stayed in the DTD area and the area right across the street several times. We Priceline the DTD area and get fabulous rooms, often suites, for about $55/night. We've stayed at the Doubletree and the Royal Plaza in DTD, and the Embassy Suites (behind the big shopping center across the street from DTD) - fabulous properties! Clean, big rooms and friendly staff. It looks like you have about 2 months before your trip, so I highly recommend using Priceline, because you have plenty of time to keep plugging in "your price" and getting a great deal. Be sure to choose the area at DTD - don't go out of that area or you can get some scary hotels  I once accidentally chose the US-192 area and we got a very nasty Holiday Inn.

Thank you. My DH is staying at the Springhill (for business) and we (DD and I) are joining him there for one night.
